Ground share at Amersham.

Recommended Posts

No vision it seems. How many big towns and cities in England that have pro clubs also have decent step 5 clubs.

I agree, but there is generally a lack of support for sports clubs. My own club if it ever tried to enhance the ground to go up would face all sorts of problems due to public access, parish council and mk council. The cost and effort required would be prohibitive. As we are effectively a village club predating Milton Keynes as it is, moving is not an option.

Aylesbury United have announced they are moving to Thame for next season. Not sure where that leaves Leighton Town financially but potentially another ground up for grabs to share. Not sure if any of the local D2 clubs have either the backing or inclination

Think it will be a case if any club can afford. Understand AUFC paid a hefty sum to play there.

Aylesbury's exile continues and with every year that passes they move further away from a return and closer to disappearing I would think. Such a shame, was a wonderful club and if they could get back in sure they would get back some of that former glory, seems impossible now.

The only way back is possibly a council sponsored ground share with Aylesbury FC similar to the Dunstable clubs, however I dont see that happening as they hate each other.

Always felt United were waiting FC out till they went pop as many expected them too but they seem set for promotion. Still not sure that they have any sort of following that can secure long term at that level, will need continued private investment. However they may feel they can wait United out they sweep up the left over fan base.

I didn't like LeightonTown's ground and the pitch was poor. Nice people at the club though but also produce a awful programme. Mr Bicknell does like the long ball which is not great on the eye. But they will be safe.

I went down a week or 2 ago to see TAFC's U18s and thought the pitch seemed a lot better than in the last couple of seasons.

Bottom 2 at the moment are AFC Hayes & North Greenford. Leighton & Beaconsfield are 7 & 8 points clear.

Potentially more sideways movements at Step 5 this summer so we might not get either of those if they come down

:(

Not going to argue too much about the programme - it hasn't compared well to others' for a long while.

We're as good as safe for another season, but there's only so many clubs that'll be worse than us. I fear the inevitable will happen sooner or later :(

Rumour circulating is Hale Leys to BUY AyLesbury FC ground and FC will have to find a lot of rent to continue there. Apparently Hale Leys have big sponsorship backing. Seems crazy to me. If you're going to sponsor a team why not sponsor a team people in the town are actually interested in.
