Ground share at Amersham.

The groundshare opportunity at Amersham must have seen some ears prick up and eyes open at a certain Division 2 Side.

 

Does anyone else see it as a decent chance for Hale Leys to go and show the Division 1 sides what they are all about.

 

I have no idea if they have plans in place for an eventual promotion but this seems like a good starting point.

I understand clubs can't use a groundshare to facilitate a promotion until they have played there for a season.

 

The issue with ground shares normally is the cost. However, not sure what Hale Leys current situation costs them and they also appear to have pretty good sponsors.

Thing is with Hale Leys those guys have all played higher and have chosen for what ever reason to play down there, will they start doing all the travelling again? To what end? Hale Leys will last only as long as that group of players do in this current guise. Unless of course they have a big support financial backing and are looking to fill Aylesbury Uniteds void. Can't see it though. With that team they'd be right up top of siv one I'm sure.

Thats fair enough. Would be good for them to progress after working so hard to get the team and league position they currently boast.

 

They must have a contingency plan in place, some of those lads can't play forever.

Time will tell I guess. Groundsharing long term is not an answer to anything. Also for what is an historical ADL side who is going to travel to Amersham to support them? So the question is who is it for? The players? Most of not all have played higher and would be snapped up by teams higher up in a heartbeat. The supporters? Are there any? The community? Which community? and if they do indeed groundshare it can't be for that. Seems a similar situation to Padbury to me.

We would love to but Amersham is just a bit to far to travel for a groundshare. We have been desperate for one for a couple of years which has cost us losing players to the likes of Langford, Crawley etc.

Why don't you contact those twats at DLCC about facilities at Brache Sparta. Floodlights in place. Surely between yourselves and maybe 61FC you could form a decent competitive side and improve the facilities to the required standard?

Then together buy out Foxdell (Brache's ground), redevelop it and share a brand spanking new facility- the kind Luton/Leagrave deserves. Much like Dunsables

Its also quite amazing, that the town the size of Luton does not have a step 5 playing in the Borough. Even at step 3 or 4 as well.

As you say 61FC owned by Council, Brache Sparta is a Council owned pitch but members only Clubhouse. It's quite simple sell off 61 land to Council build houses and invest some money in the facilities and space at Foxdell. Call it Brache 61 or whatever really. A little bit of cooperation is what is lacking from the Councillors in Dallow Ward. Whole story there for the local papers if someone has the gumption to do something with it!!!!
