v Cirencester

Good performance and yes a lot of it was down to the extra variety Chris Henry provides.

First ten mins they were all over us, but we got the goal and the confidence and we were playing the way we knew we could.

Eddie was back on form with one of his classic cool headed break through the back line pick his spot goals for the third.

A big contribution came from Luke in goal who saved a hat full of chances for Cirencester.

3 very useful points that should now see us completely safe.

A real gutsy performance combined with some really excellent attacking play from the team today.

Both teams created a hat-full of chances and how there was only 8 goals in the game I'll never know!

Adam Martin did well on his return, also Ed Smith and Hatchet were excellent up front but the two stand-out players for me were Jake Parsons and Chris Henry.

Chris Henry looks a real live wire and was causing no end of problems for Cirencester and for his 2 goals he would be my MOTM.

Well done to all concerned for an excellent win against a good Cirencester team.

COYR!!

P.S. hopefully a timely booster for our clash with top of the table Corby on Tuesday

A tweet form a Tim Bond on Cirencester's twitter feed before the game today says 'easy win for the boys today'.

Funnily enough Tim Bond hasn't tweeted since.

Don't you just love these idiots

Eddie - I think he was referring to the development team who had just won 4-2.

However there were a number of players from Cirencester, especially their 2,  Ian "fish face" Herring, who started to throw their toys out of their prams when they could see they had blown their playoff chances to the "lowly" STFC

For those of us that WERE there it was a good attacking display, nice to see a few goals in the oppositions net for a change, made the 70+ miles worthwhile. Mr Henry easily man of the match and seems a cut above, hope he can turn it on most weeks. Now we have to turn our attention to that leaky defence , goalkeeper excluded.

Football's a funny old game...........a couple of weeks or so back we dominated Redditch for 30 minutes didn't score and they did with their second effort on goal and we lost 4-0. This time we had some luck and scored with our first effort on goal and won the game 5-3.

That Cirencester no.2 was running the game for the ref by the way, lucky not to get sent off for persistant moaning!

Paltry crowd made marginally better by the 50 or 60 Slough supporters. How do clubs survive with that kind of backing?? Top attendance this season 150 ish, lowest 78.

They survive with the backing of a wealthy Chairman until he realises he's not getting the increase in support that he had hoped for with the rise up the divisions.

With the Chairman gone they get relegated back down the leagues until they reach their natural level for the support they get.

That player should have been warned that if he carried on he would get booked and then sent off if he still persisted in carrying on with his whinging and moaning in the Refs ear.

Unfortunately some refs are just not strong enough and make a rod for their own backs.
