Peacehaven & Telscombe v Enfield Town

Town are playing some great football, and this weekend they travel to the sunny south coast to face newly promoted Peacehaven, in search of another win to boost our play-off chances.

The Magpies won the Ryman South Division in style last season, breaking a number of records on the way, and also won the Sussex Senior Cup, beating Bognor Regis 3-0 in the final at Brighton & Hove Albion's AMEX Stadium. They have had mixed results this season and, back In December, Town edged a hard-fought match 1-0 at the QE2 Stadium.

Sure there will be plenty of vocal support for Brad and the boys at this match. If you are planning on going to the game, its worth noting that the Peacehaven ground, The Sports Park, is only a short distance from the sea front, where there are some fantastic cliffs and coastal views. Well worth a quick look if time allows!

Let's hear it for our guys tomorrow. Good luck chaps!

See you there.

The "Dew-Drop Inn" is well worth a visit, not far from the ground AND the sea.

A good hardworking performance and I made the following comment on the other thread, may be more appropriate here.

"The manager at Peacehaven was also diabolical on some of the comments he was making. At one time the ref blew for a foul against Peacehaven close to the club house touchline and the manager claimed that he got it wrong when he was over 50 yards away. With that kind of leadership it is no wonder that Peachaven surrounded the ref on almost every decision. Credit to the Town they stayed well out of it and, generally, let the ref get on with his job. It is that discipline that Brad and his coaching team have brought to the side".

It is my view that it would be difficult to fault the officials yesterday. The "goal" that was disallowed the benefit of the doubt has to be given to the lino. Was it a forward pass? The goalkeeper was out of the game so the defender challenging the cross may not have made the number up to 2 defenders between the offside man and the goal. I was not in a position to see.

Peacehaven were a physical side with a lot of character and effort but their lack of quality showed up on many occasions. If they want to stay in the premier division they have to bring some quality to their side.

What a rewarding day out for all Towners (and there were many)who made the long journey down to East Sussex yesterday. Nice to see so many old friends down at the coast. Great support, well done everyone!

Town players were once again a great credit to the Club at Peacehaven yesterday, where they rolled up their sleeves, battled hard for every ball, supported each other, and looked a strong, determined, well organised team, well capable, dare I say, of securing one of the play-off spots this season.

It has been a great couple of weeks for Brad and his players, four straight wins, and three of those away from home. Superb form, and with just seven league matches remaining, 4 at home and 3 away, Town really have the bit between their teeth, and have the confidence and belief to achieve their ambition.

Really sorry to hear about Captain Mark Kirby's injury. Best wishes to Mark for a speedy recovery.

Finally, thanks to everyone at Peacehaven for their hospitality yesterday, and good luck to them in their battle against relegation.
