Banbury United match to be replayed

So basically if you've got a clueless Ref you can get away anything.

No, if Banbury provided the 3 match balls at the start then they have met their obligation. If replacements aren't available and the referee feels it's being done on purpose he can add the time on. To be honest though it was Banbury that had the momentum in the second half so the game slowing down due to lack of balls was to our advantage not theirs.

Jon Black have you ever put a post on here without having a dig or criticising the managers or the team.

At the beginning of the season we were all more than happy just to stay up, and the manager's and the team have done that unlike Banbury who still might get relegated.

Sue

Yes ! But just being happy to stay up in my opinion shows a lack of ambition. It has gone from aiming for the play offs to happy with survival.

Still waiting for someone to show me where I have named any player in a bad report, while forgetting those that I have praised.

I hate agreeing with big head but he is right. In reality let's just get our ground and concentrate then on promotion.

Look at all the hard work Steve and the supporter's had to do at the beginning of the year to get sycob up to premier league standard, god knows what they would want for conference south.

Jon, sorry mate I just don't recall a post where you havnt had a dig at Jon, Neil or the team.

Jon Black with your ambition you must be moving up the ranks on a regular basis at your work place or have you reached the position of Chairman already.

So easy to snipe on the sidelines. If you run your own company you will know how much work it takes just to stand stil and how work happens that no one sees. Helping sell trust memberships before one game was an eye-opener on how much work goes on to get a game on, mainly by volunteers. Reach for the stars by all means but lets not build these foundations on sand like so many other suicidal clubs who usually end up back to square one or worst, going bust.

3 Spirit, this was the same team who beat Dunstable from being 2-0 down in a game we had nothing to play for that gave up last night. Same team, two weeks later, different performance. Are you saying that as it's end of season I should put up with awful displays, I don't think so. In case you haven't looked at the Slough shirt lately , it's motto is SERVE WITH HONOUR not ' nothing to play for so don't give a shit'.

I wasn't going to respond, however I think your last comments are extremely harsh Ade, were the lads not trying in the first 52 minutes when lets be honest there was only one winner, and we were dominating??? and we had lads working their nuts off....

Personally thought they put in a really good shift for that period, however we said at half time that football can sometimes bite you in the bum if you don't take your chances, and that is what happened...

Banbury were not in the game, then immediately their spirits raised ten fold after the goal, and ours went the other way......

They after all were battling for their lives.... the lads did not not work hard, they just got outfought for a good 35 minutes, and to be fair Banbury went for the kill.... and were better than us for that period...

If we had been a couple of goals up at half time which was a fair reflection of the game, then we would have gone on to win comfortably...

This is football, and why we love it, however I think it is unfair to say the lads didn't care...

You only have to look at the likes of Ben Edwards, who is in absolute bits with his groin and back (and should not be playing anywhere near what he has had to with Clurgy, Searsy and George all injured), however he has had to keep playing as we have so many unavailable to us, and we are unable to bring anyone else in.... and to be honest he never gives less than 100%.

George is not fit because of his groin, we had an 18 year old lad from Ascot who is a good prospect but this level of football is probably too soon for him at present, a 16 year old in Oscar Betts and Gavin Smith who has not played properly for the last year or so (but the only one that we could get at the last minute that was signed on and prepared to travel to Banbury on a Tuesday night...)

Billy then comes off injured leaving us one centre half, as Foulser is injured, Reece suspended and Tom Moran unavailable due to a late change in his work.

Of course we know what we need to do in the summer, and we are working our nuts off in the background to try and make this happen, however we are no different than 90% of the teams in the country who are trying to improve enough to make the next step...

I think a bit of realism is in order.

P.S I am not saying for any reason that the lads can not be criticised as the performance for last 38 minutes was not good enough, but to say they didn't give a shit is completely wrong, and I think disrespectful to the lads.

Nothing annoys me more than people who post things like "glad I didn't go"

Its your foorball team you support them through the good and the bad not just when they bloody win.

Was I happy about going back to Banbury after their antics, no I wasnt. but I went to support my team.

Think back people to before Steve, when we were getting thrashed week after week and were close to folding and thank your lucky stars you still have a team to bloody well support.

And yes its Sue

Well said Neil, exactly how I saw the game. Some people are unrealistic about where we should be and disappointing as it is to lose 3-0 it wasn't a reflection of the game overall. Banbury, fighting for their lives, have a better record than ourselves since Christmas so they have improved their side. The fact that they've used 66 players this season indicates their disarray before that time and possibly they still have some organisational issues e.g. switching on floodlights for an evening game! Mostly it's a strong band of volunteers that pull things together on and off the pitch, we should count ourselves lucky.

Rebelade,I wouldn't have been best pleased either if I had watched such a dreadful second 45 but I stand by my comments that the season can't end soon enough for 'The Rebels'.

It may have been the same team that beat Dunstable but we still had one poor half in that one ie when we were 2-0 down

A substitution seemed to make a difference on that day but as Neil pointed out,we only have to look at the patched up team to know,we've got big problems.

Confidence is low, when our better players don't perform and a couple of the players seem ready for their summer hols !

Forgetting the Banbury game, our season as a whole as a newly promoted team, has been a good one.Without all the major injuries we've had,it would have been a better one.

Not an excuse just a fact.
