Banbury United match to be replayed

At the very least the game should have been replayed at HP and started off from where it finished. Very true about the officials' safety, I too would be worried if I were an official, knowing that this could now easily happen again and who knows the next time could be alot worse in terms of incident. I can't believe anyone would agree with the league's decision (aside from Banbury!) and the league really are making a fool of themselves especially after the Hereford debacle!

Slough Town FC are being penalised by having to start a new game from 0-0 when we were 2-1 up at half time.

It was Banbury at fault for THEIR fan throwing a bottle hitting the ref, for THEIR stewards failing to control the BANBURY fans, and THEIR failure to have a "tunnel" that segregated and protected players and officials.

So who is at fault and who is being penalised?

The Southern League have got this badly wrong and are not man enough to admit it.

'Typical Slough response,it was one individual who wrongly lost his head in the heat of the moment, we are being painted as a bunch of hooligans. The official on the day was awful and quite honestly as the old saying goes 'If you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen'. He knew he had made a complete mess of the first half and unfortunately he was given an easy way out and finally Slough Town need to get over themselves.'

This was a quote from 'Sparky' just posted on the Banbury forum. Obviously not very sparky or bright come to that.

This is the sort of rubbish that we are going to get. I do hope that if it needs to be replayed that we take as many fans as possible to support the team . Ive got a feeling they will be walking into a very heated atmosphere and I will certainly be going to support my club in the best way possible, by being loud and cheering the lads, no plastic bottles will be harmed.

Haha what drivel who ever he is needs to take note.. Only cause u don't think the ref was great u don't chuck a bottle at him we have all had our fair share of crap refs. Let's not lie if it was at slough they were winning and our fans did that... They would be saying exactly the same ESP since their position in the league is hardly stable

Front page and main editorial in todays Non League Paper

Unfortunately the SL will consider they are in the right , yesterdays officials were aghast at the decision .

They said that the SL have a duty of care to their employees and this sends out the wrong message..... And rightly so.

They might find it even harder to get ref's ect to come to a SL game now. they'll go to Ryman ect safer there.
