Banbury United match to be replayed

Absolute joke! Why is it though that all I keep thinking is if it had of been one of our fans would it of been different. FA again have proven that they have no clue and not one brain cell among them! I want to go and support the lads and get my monies worth but I don't want to go banbury again. they've basically put a message out that it's ok to do what the fan did and I bet they don't even get a fine.

Just to point out it's not the FA who have ordered the match to be replayed, it's the Southern League.

Just because we all knew this was the decision they would make it doesn't make it any less ridiculous. The Southern League have taken the easy option and proved themselves to be as cowardly as the idiot that attacked the referee in the first place.

Although I hope we do, you really get the feeling it's pointless as we can all guess the outcome! Would it be the FA or league we appeal to and if it's the league it'll just be the same idiots who made the original decision! Anyway at least we now know if any match we're not happy with the score or the grass might be too long we can easily get it abandoned!

If Banbury have challenged the charges, then they must feel they have done nothing wrong - what a joke that club is and hope they go down!

However we need to protest this in the strongest and most powerful way, but ensuring we do not lower our standards or put the club in a poor position.

As per the notification on the main site, we need to take some time and consider what actions are taken in a measured and controlled way so that we do not lower ourselves to the levels of the idiot who assaulted the referee with the bottle and those incapable of upholding the standards of this league.

I agree - a total disgrace and The Southern League Board should hang their heads in shame.

You could interpret this decision as actually encouraging further assaults against match officials. Everyone was looking to The Southern League to be strong and send out a clear message - well they have certainly done that!!!.......... Losing 3-1, important game, one player sent off - no worries just bottle/assault the ref - game abandoned - job done - replay to look forward to!!!!

Match officials have now been put in a very dangerous position and it would appear that their safety is of little or no consequence when it comes to the result of a match. They have completely ducked the issue. If I were a ref I would hang up my boots.

Competence comes to mind and a truly HORRENDOUS decision - not necessarily for the club - but for football and its future governance.
