If I won the lottery!

.....after the £10 thread has been deemed, not to be spoken about,I thought I'd come at it in a different angle.

It's all very well making the supporters out to be tight arses but that just isn't true.I think most of the Slough support give what they can,in today's country of over inflated prices.

More's the pity but unfortunately most of us haven't got bank balances that the wealthy have ! Hence we pay what we can afford.

Slough Town FC is not a church or a charity or a fundraiser for the poor but it is a club of people who come together for the love of their team and to watch good football, maybe enjoy the social side and feel some sort of allegiance to the club and the area, for whatever reason.

If I won the lottery,I would happily sponsor it big time to bring in the some of the best non-league players of each division,to help our steady climb.

Also to help get the ground back in Slough. Not for money-making purposes but because I want to.

Alas,I haven't won the lottery,so can only do what I can do,as I'm sure most fans do.

3spirit,

I'm assuming the statement will stand if you win £25 on the lottery.

A win is a win.

I'd sponsor a player's socks[£5] or a player's laces[£2] .  The rest I'd spend on what I choose to spend it on !

As I've only ever won a tenner[and that was years ago !] I don't expect a windfall anytime soon.

If I won say £5m I'd probably give around £500,000 to the club but not in one go. I'd rather add £50,000 per season to the playing budget (obviously keeping it secret!), which at this level would be a massive advantage and if promotion came then up that accordingly. But I would have a maximum outlay as it could all be easily blown!

One way I might do it is, as well as a one off seasonal donation, put say £3m into a high interest account under my control until my passing.

But with all the monthly interest going straight to the club,so basically giving the club money every month
