v Redditch

I hope we've got Dan Brown of Liam Malone or we could be in the brown stuff.

Seems like we were !

Can't comment on the game as wasn't there but from what I saw in our home match against them and by today's result, they are a very good outfit. No shame losing to them.

Bit of a worry, though, that our scoring has dried up a bit and the managers must be slightly nervous, that they may have a

bigger re-building job for next season than one would have thought before the turn of the New year.

Hopefully in our next two home games, our fortune will turn.We still have players who can get a result in this league. As Bakes said on Twitter we need to dig deep.

Was quite interesting watching Match of the Day last night, as Ruud Gullit, Alan Shearer and Lineker were discussing the lack of goals for Villa, and they all agreed that the more people talk about it and the players think about it, sometimes the harder it gets, unfortunately it can become a mental thing, and the last 5 or 6 games we have created plenty of chances (Poole excepted), however just not finding the back of the net.

I think that is football in general, sometimes a goal as a deflection early in the game can change that.... def frustrating yesterday as we were the better side for the first 45 minutes and should have gone in at half time in front, however we went in one down from their first shot.

Second half after a poor goal given away within 25 seconds, their confidence increased and they started popping the ball around and showed that they are a good side with Ashley Sammons instrumental for them, we also went ragged as a side for 15-20 minutes and found ourselves four down.

The second half was very forgettable and frustrating, with the one chink of light Foulser making his comeback in the last 15 minutes.

Those who were not aware we lost Reece Yorke on the way down, who became ill on the coach, which was another setback in what was already a stretched squad.

We will go back to the drawing board, and look to work hard this week, and try to pick up the points on Saturday against Cambridge City.

Accurate summing up Neil, disappointing scoreline considering how little they created first half and they didn't really have to do much to find themselves 3 up and comfortably in charge. There was an audible anxiety amongst their spectators first half as we bossed the game!

Their captain, Ashley Sammon, is a very good player, leading goalscorer from midfield too! Take him out of their side and they'd be struggling. Pity he managed to be fit for both our games against them.

Sympathy with their Chairman trying to regenerate Redditch United with little council or local support. Definitely deserve better as, unfortunately, the ground is run down and badly in need of major investment.

Thanks to our council (after 12 years) we are on the cusp of going in the opposite direction to them in this respect.

The tide will turn in the scoring stakes undoubtedly,Neil. The forwards we have don't turn into bad players overnight because of being off target in a few games.Although you know my leanings on this front.

I think our problem of late is more to do with not having a settled side and because of the personnel changes,we have had trouble adjusting to this, which has also hampered our creativity.

I will be glad to see Jamie McClurg back in the side,as his influence has been sorely missed.I think having George,Adam and Warren back at some point has got to be good[along with Jamie],in the fact that they all know each others game so well.

Bedding Adam Martin in, will take time, just as Billy Jeffery's game has been with his new defenders.

What's good is we have a solid core to build on and if we can get a positive result at home to Cambridge, our form can change quick.

By the way,I also think Ashley Sammons is class. He would be in my best eleven of this Premier Division.

I took detailed notes on the game and the 1st goal was actually their 3rd effort on goal. Agree that the change in personnel in each game is affecting the team but yesterday their was a lack of leadership, cohesion and confidence and the heads of the players certainly dropped after 2nd goal and to watch two players arguing and pushing each other didn't help.

Saturday is another day and another chance to win 3 points COYR

IMO we played quite well in the first half and really should have taken the lead when Ed Smith only had the keeper to beat.

We started slowly in the second half and after the early second goal we seemed to lose our shape and discipline for a large part of the second half.

At present we are certainly being made to pay for our lack of bodies, especially in midfield and our current inability to take any chances that come our way.

Have to agree with the comment about lack of leadership on the pitch.

After going 2-0 down I didn't hear any player barking out orders and trying to 'rally the troops' like a Dave Woozley would have.

Great to see Adam Foulser back in action!

Just to say to 3Spirit, I'm remaining positive on the new ground situation, nothing I've heard from anyone detracts from that. I know it's 12 years of pain, but it's about to change!

Be confident.

Well of course,Bernie,I hope you're right !

With so many false dawns and broken promises, hard to be confident of progress but this time we seem to be moving in the right direction,so I live in hope.
