Shame about France but I think that England will come second. The reason why i don't think England will finish in the top spot, is that the fire power of France with Henry and Trezaguet is just to strong.

Yes, I think you're right, BC. I can't see France doing another 'Senegal' somehow. Croatia are no slouches either but not the team they were with the likes of Suker etc.

We can win that group, no probs. Guess we'll get the usual doom-mongers on here bemoaning our chances.

 

We had all this with Turkey a few weeks back, Argentina in 2002, Germany in 2001...

 

We'll be fine, and I can see us playing France again in the final three weeks later.

I reckon a draw against the french then a win against Croatia and Switzerland should do it. We should have more faith in ourselves, we have a great choice of squad with the likes of Joe Cole and Terry coming to play.

 

As for France, the only up front player on form at the moment is Henry, he couldn't even score against Fulham, Trezuguet is having a mare and maybe, just maybe 2004 could be our year.

Also, the Dutch, Italy and Germany are all avoided until the Semi-Finals.

 

Spain and Portugal are good sides, but we are more than capable of beating both of them in the Quarters.

Apparently we haven't lost to France for something like 22yrs but haven't beaten them for about 12 either - so a few draws are in there!

To be honest as most of the France team play in the premiership it should make it easier to play against them.

A few cheeky kicks at Henry and co though in the last few weeks of the season won't go amiss!

If we can have a fully fit Beckham, Gerrard and Owen and ditch that donkey Ashley Cole then we have a very good chance.
