Big J R
It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of Sheila Stephens, mother of our first team manager Glynn, and wife of Terry. My wife Jan and I will remember with affection her presence with her husband in the bar at Meadowbank at Dorkings home games a couple of seasons ago. Always great and amusing company. Beano_ATMFC
When Glynn was the manager of Ashford Town (Middlesex) Reserves and I got involved with the admin of the team to help him out, Terry and Sheila never missed a match and were always terrific company. We became firm friends and Sheila made a beautiful doll for our daughter before she was born; we named the doll "Big Lilly", given the baby was going to be little Lilly. We still have Big Lilly and treasure her, just as I treasure my memories of the brilliant time we had with the Suburban League side between 2007-09. Sheila was a one-off and the kind of person who reminds you how much fun football - and life - can be. My heartfelt condolences to Glynn, Terry and their family.
