Oh dear ! Oh dear !

When I started to attend meetings with the FA on the future of the National Game and ground grading etc some three years ago there seemed to be endless queues of F A personnel all offering their twopence worth on where we are going and what we must do to secure our future. At the beginning of the season there were just two "originals" left, Steve Parkin and Mike Appleby now we hear that Steve has "left" the FA with the Conference supremo's saying " not to worry as all is in place" - but is it ? I am totally dumbfounded by it all but will and can only say, keep your morale up folks and let's do the best we can to keep the EESL in the limelight , ie Enfield Town and Concord Rangers in the F A Vase and Basildon United in the Cherry Red and if our Champions go up , we get someone back ! .... What's that fat pink thing flying by the window ?

Can we have debate on that. If Brewers can run Football clubs well why can't the FA organise one in a brewery? Ipswich were run well by the Cobbolds producing such greats as Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Robson!

I think you find it is management by committees each with the vested interest of the contributing clubs. It is why we will probably never win the Football World Cup again and why the RFU did win the World Cup. In the RFU the RFU call the shots not the contributing clubs. I wish Trevor Brooking all the luck in the world, give him real power.

I bet Lyndon Lynch was able to call the shots for the team he wanted to win the LD World Cup. So it can be done. Shame it isn't Sir Lyndon like hopefully Sir Clive Woodward.

I'm not convinced that Ipswich produced either Alf Ramsey or Bobby Robson. I think it was the other way round!

Ramsey played for Spurs in the great 51 side. I believe he was acquired from Southampton.

Robson, a geordie, played for WBA, I believe.

The RFU world cup is considerably easier to win the the real World Cup, and while it was a great achievemnt by the England team, cannot really be compared with the football original.
