Totally agree VoR. The CCL could easily get this sorted. Invite clubs and their grounds people to a round table discussion. The issue some may have - we at Westfield would be one such party - is that the grounds people are council sub contractors. Getting them to such an event would be tricky I'd suggest. Great idea though.

We have sponges at Alton. The bits that have come off old armchairs and the like. They remove most of the surface water, and whilst not guaranteed success, they do make a gigantic difference. It's cold, wet and messy, and labour dependent but well worth looking at as these things can be picked up at tips.

I'm more than willing to sit down with any club that wants too and offer any advice I can on pitch maintenance, free of charge aswell ,

Some of you I have already helped out and I have been to most grounds in both leagues during my time involved in playing managing and even spectating ,

You will find something's are cheaper than you would think ,

I'm sure Jj would say I'm more than approachable when it comes to grounds issues

Seems clear to me that the will to share good practices in pitch care is definitely there, as I felt sure it would be amongst experts when I mentioned it. It's an issue where club rivalries, simmering feuds and petty in fighting are irrelevant too, which is always refreshing!

 

I don;t know the first thing about the subject matter, but there are many hardworking club men who do. I fully understand the spectre of petty politics getting in the way regarding local authorities, but there is a wealth of knowledge out there and it would be great to see it shared as much as time, said politics and other factors allow.

 

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Would like you to look at ours at Westfield Nut. Now would be good as its the worst it's ever been. The general feeling is there's a deeper problem somewhere. Wouldn't mind your opinion though.

Craig at no point during my post have I condoned the language of either side frimley or camberley so not sure why you are trying to deflect the issue onto camberley players I believe I commented on the number 3 of camberley who I can only assume has a case of touretts! my point if you care to read the post was the continual badgering of the referee in order to get players booked which towards the end of the game became boring and tiresome!! Your comment about lumping the ball forward falls on deaf ears I'm afraid as we have heard it all season I am sure if you had a 5ft 7 striker you would lump it up to him also? I believe last time we played frimley our central midfield player recieved a career threatening injury caused by a tackle actually assault by a frimley player this tackle occurred in the middle of the field, so forgive me if your calls of long ball are put into the boring pile!! Perhaps teams should concentrate on how to eliminate camberley's style of play rather then posting the usual long ball camberley. And no I didn't relieve myself behind the stand but thanks for asking and allowing me to clear my name.
