HORNCHURCH  2  HALIFAX TOWN  2

Visiting keeper Ellis Halpine made some fine saves in the first half as Hornchurch threatened to overwhelm Halifax, but the visitors came forward strongly in the final twenty minutes, and, despite some magnificent saves by Callum Chafer, they drew level with two goals in two minutes.

The penalty shoot-out finished in controversy, after Chafer saved the sixth and eighth penalties – only for the linesman to indicate that a re-take was required.

Sean - there answer is that most of the colleges have their sports days on Wednesday afternoon, so the matches are scheduled for 2 pm kick offs.

It was a very frustrating way to go out of the competition, as Callum Chafer had made what to most of us seemed to be two excellent penalty saves, both of which would have been match winners.
