Plus ca change....

I thought that until they scored we were probably just the better side but after their first went in and danny missed a one on one shortly after that, the heads dropped and it was the same old story.

We were unable to raise our game in the second half and it was no real surprise when KL added a second, our best chance in the half coming from an ansell effort cleared off the line with young tolan sticking the rebound wide from three yards. Over the balance of the 90 couldn,t really argue with the result and fair play to them for bringing loads of supporters.

A rumourette that there may be some player movement after this game, and I think that who stays, who goes and who arrives will tell us everything we need to know about our ambition for the rest of season.

Away from yesterday I am told that the ESC game against Wivenhoe will be on Tues 9th Dec and that our Boxing Day "clash" with C*nv*y will kick off at 1.00 pm although neither bit of info from official sources so check b4 you pitch up please!!!

Easy to spot the turning points in this game: 1) They had a good spell of pressure forcing a few corners, JJ made good saves on 2 but couldn't stop the goal from the third. 2) As JL says Hockton then missed out when 1-on-1 with the keeper. Maybe he was feeling a bit rusty after his lay-off. 3) 2nd half good spell of pressure from us. 3) Denied a clear penalty when Stevie Jones was hauled down by their No.5 according to the lino it is now acceptable to stick your elbow in somebody's face AND grab his shoulder if you think he might get past you.... 4) Immediately Lynn counter-attack and score their second. Perhaps we were guilty of a loss of concentration, still outraged by the refs decision. 2nd goal effectively killed off the game.

Overall I thought the major difference between the sides was in centre mid - they had one, we didn't. Any transfer wheelings and dealings will have to focus on bringing in 2 players for this position.

Guilty of not putting our chances away again. Pivitol moment was THAT PENALTY, how it was never given I'll never know. Actually I do know, it was down to more incompetent and weak officials. Still these things happen although they seem to happen to us on a more than regular basis. Fair play to Kings Lynn, thought they were one of the best sides we've played this season. Encouraging performance and I hope we can now have a spell of continuity in the side which I still think is capable of getting us out of trouble.

Ok we played a little better on Saturday but still not well enough to get a result, Kings Lynn were the better team on the day.

What saddened me however was the torrent of abuse that was hurled at the opposition at the final whistle by the players tunnel. Ok we are not having the best of seasons but the language and behaviour of some of these so called "fans" was disgusting. The referee was no poorer than normal and their players (especially their goalie) were not cheating just time wasting, and who doesn't in that situation?

I am no saint i regularly get irate and swear whilst watching the football but what went on on Saturday after the final whistle was a complete embarassment to the club.

The choice language being hurled at the Kings Lynn players (especially nice being yelled several times by a so called woman!) and some pubescent morons kicking the tunnel really let our club down. Most of the so called "tough guys" kicking the tunnel and yelling the abuse were young pups but the idiot in the duffer who was egging them on, I wonder if he would be doing the same if their was nothing to stop the opposition getting back at him? I was looking around at the many older gentlemen that have followed the club for years and the younger kids whos father has brought them down for the game and the look on their faces was one of utter disgust. The club is already in a bad enough state without losing any more support!

So please gents lets have less of the yobbish antics and a little more passion whilst the players are on the pitch!
