hi dave here hope everyones allright its all gone quite on here. maybe all are quite rightly a bit deppresed. derailed by the noisy bell ringing trams supporters and a team looking good to make up ground maybe. every time a key moment or corner ding dong bell from them and are small band of regulars loved it. the trams whisked past so quietly only notest first half and with back to the second half only herd in background.

dave derailed by result programes. dave programs.

Just think back to the openly attacking style of football we were playing last season though, with goals galore. That was down to the players, mainly the likes of Boot, Winston, Hakki and Bubb. We finished 4th and I can't see us doing that this season ! The quality just is not there.

hi domm and all dave here. hope all is well. very wet last night and this morning. are there any local games any body knows of as there seems to be no FAT replays listed also as stated in other threads sloughs game with worthing appears to still be on. any games that may be on may well be possibly in dout. can you comfirm any details from above. bub was allways a little unpridictable at times but at other times weave or work his magic with touches of genious on the ball.

Can't say I was ever convinced by Bubb. Far too often he tried to beat one too many players, only played when he felt like it and had a poor attitude overall to the club. He was a matchwinner on his day, but that day did not come round often enough.

One other suggestion about changing the team around, how about Hodge at centre back and Boot and Miller upfront? Twice Hodge has played there, and twice he's been blinding.

Bubb is the kind of player who can tear defences apart, if he feels like it. If he can't be bothered then he'll fade out of the game completely. But he can provide one killer pass that can change a game. As BFR said, he tore Canvey apart in the Cup. The closest we have to a player like Bubb is Hyatt, but it's not the same.

I think if we are to persist with this 3-5-2 it needs to be when fit:

Moller, Barras, Gyoury
Harris, Hyatt or Wilko, Spencer, Haddow, Steer
Hodge and Miller.

No Steve Daly?

Basically, I think Daly, Moller and Gyoury are all too similar and so it needs to be two from three.

I have a feeling Moller is going to prove to be a class act when he is fully fit. Both Moller and Gyoury are marginally more mobile than Steve. All three are equally solid in the air. I think (no offence Steve) that age is begining to catch up with the Daly and he is not recovering quickly from injuries. So yep for me Steve would be a bench warmer. Only fractionally mind.

I don't think I've seen a defender as aerially dominate as Daly. Not convinced by either Daly or Gyoury's distribution from the back, and Browne doesn't be able to be consistently good, only flashes of defensive class from him.

Daly is desperate to play for the team and as a result keeps rushing back too quickly. Because of this his hamstring isn't fully recovering and the injury keeps striking and laying him off again. Right spirit, wrong application.

Maybe I have done him a dis-service aerially. He definatley should not be rushing back with a hamstring, he did not even stay on long enough for me to see him play saturday and I was only five minutes late. Always welcome in a Slough side as far as I am concerned.
