Bideford Away

We played on top for majority of the game today and it just would not go in, penalty IMO was never one, ref allowed their time wasting, gave fouls for nothing and was just not very good. Their keeper was good and made some great saves but we should of won

Jon boy That's not the attitude !

We played alright just couldn't put the ball in the net. Penalty given for them but same thing not given for us !

Officials were dreadful.

Surprised to see Truro fans there with their flags up, wonder why they were not watching their own team. (Not allowed maybe)

Also very strange cigarette smells

Think that just about sums the day up!

Oh and yes it was bloody cold !!!

Quite right, not the best attitude from me! Great dedication from the Slough faithful that travelled there. Credit to the club

Strange game played in a gale force wind.

We completely dominated the whole match and only let Bideford have a handful of chances.

It would just not go in, and when it did the linesman had his flag up for offside.

Bideford got a penalty for handball where the ball was blasted at the hands from a few feet, but because the arms were up it was given.

We had exactly the same in the second half which was not given. I heard the ref give his reason which was the Bideford player had his hands down at the time.

Both players had no chance of getting their hands/arms away from the point blank shot.

We played quite well and seemed to handle the strong wind a lot better than Bideford.

Their keeper kept on asking me how they were winning as they hardly had the ball

It was just one of those games where both sides couldn't believe what was happening

I would like to go on record and thank the travelling supporters today, who not only travelled a long distance in superb numbers, but really got behind the team.

It was fab to see so many of you there, and you were a credit to the club.

On to the game, well a very poor goal given away in 13 seconds did not help our game plan, (that is 4 goals within 30 seconds this season, 3 for 1 against).

We knew it was going to be tough with the conditions, and that we had to visit their box as much as we could, and despite lots of pressure we could not take our chances.

Second half we thought would be tougher against the wind, however the lads worked very hard and played some good stuff, with only the finishing touch missing, which all 3 forwards held their hands up today on.

Luke has not had to make a single save in the second half for a team defending a very strong wind.

I won't comment too much on the ref, those that were there will know what I think, however one thing I still cant get my head round was he gave a penalty against Billy for handball from 4 yards away with his hands by his face protecting his face, he was also cautioned for deliberate handball.

Second half we got in down the left and crossed the ball, with their lad falling, the ball was stopped across the ground with an outstretched arm, and stopped the flight of the ball falling for a striker to have a free shot on goal.

Not on purpose for sure, however give the first one you HAVE to give the second one, refs view was Billy's was deliberate and his wasn't... you couldn't make it up.

Anyway we were delighted with our work rate in tough conditions, and on another day it might have been a very comfortable victory for us. Gutted!

One of those days when nothing goes our way. The score doesn't paint the right picture and on another day we could have scored 5 or 6. Bideford had a game plan to score early, which they did, and then put 8 players behind the ball and then defended resolutely . We had 2 goals disallowed , hit the post and their keeper made 4/5 great saves.

I won't speak about the officials but if we were concentrating from kick off and been more clinical in front of goal we would have won.

I have a very sore throat which I'm treating with beer COYR

Your face when we saw you after the game Neil said it all. Can't believe we didn't get anything from that game. It was exactly the same as when we went to Arlesey earlier this season, they scored and stuck so many men behind the ball we struggled to break them down, and when we did the keeper or the linesman's flag got in the way. Penalty decision was harsh, the officials performances were highly questionable today overall. However we have to make sure that we don't get hit with a sucker punch so early in a game again.

We go again next week. COYR.

And funnily enough the Arlesey game was the last time in the league we were beaten away from home.
