Reading Rebel
Just going by the photo from Horsham Rebel it looks like when JD challenged the Burnham keeper he has kicked the ground and not the keeper. You only have to look at the reaction from the Burnham Keeper who gets up straight knowing he hasn't been touched and doesn't complain until other players intervene. IMO the 'over the top' reaction from Burnham's joint manager Danny Gordon has got JD sent off. Worth an appeal?
Stuntman Mark
No there was definitely contact.

Stuntman Mark
The photo is just a split second of the action. Have you seen the video? It actually looks much worse on that than it was.
Hammer_rebel
Sorry I agree RR video footage can be at a wrong angle even watching is hard.... A photo doesn't lie and his foot is at the side of the keeper, no way a red

Reading Rebel
I think it would be almost impossible to see in normal time i.e. from the video or from the Refs view if there was any contact between JD and the keeper and the Ref has guessed. The keeper gets up almost immediately, which for me is a sign that he was not touched, but then Danny Gordon comes running in bending over JD and shouting at him which for me makes up the Refs mind and proceeds to book JD. GarySTFC
Can't appeal two yellows anyway.
HorshamRebel
Probably should have had two yellows in the first half, so the ref might have been waiting for his next intent to give him his second.

Reading Rebel
On plus side if it was the Rugby keeper he would have rolled around squealing and JD would have probably got a straight red.
Ian
From where I was stood I firmly believe there was contact, although not worthy of a caution in my opinion. JD was absolutely entitled to go for the ball in that scenario and to the keeper's credit he made nothing of it when others would have. That said, what followed was worthy of at least a caution so he would have walked anyway.
Stuntman Mark
That's exactly how I saw it Ian. An appeal would be ludicrous...I'd prefer it if the FA would give us a decision on the Banbury game rather than waste their time with this. From the video it looks fairly clear that there isn't any contact, however the coming together after was definitely a yellow as you said.

Stuntman Mark, are you saying an appeal, if possible, would be ludicrous because JD would have booked for the second offence if not for the initial offence? Stuntman Mark
Because a. it was a yellow card and b. there is absolutely no credible evidence anywhere to reverse the referee's decision. This is nowhere near the level of mistake that the Ryan Lake sending off was for example, where it was pretty easy to prove that a huge error had been made by the ref. An appeal, whilst not even possible, would be a massive waste of time, energy and money so let's accept the ref's decision and move on to the Poole game. Don Juan DeMarcus
I saw no contact. Jd did well not to hit him accidentally imho
Ian
Just to reiterate......you cannot appeal a caution!
