Smudge
Surrey/Hampshire County FA's,are switching to a new Computer System starting the 19th January 2015 As a result, there maybe periods of downtime for our computer network over the next 2 weeks, including a delay on response time re E.Mails and phone calls. Patience and understanding during the change over is much appreciated. So do not leave queries to the last minute,YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.Nice to know that the fine money is well spent. Beano_ATMFC
Middlesex FA are moving over to the new Whole Game System next week as well. Clubs will benefit from this, as by next season, they will be able to deal with their discipline and affiliation online when it suits them, rather than having to contact their County FA during office hours, which isn't always convenient for volunteer Club Secretaries. In addition, Whole Game System will link into Full-Time, meaning that Clubs, Leagues and County FAs will be able to share fixture and suspension information instantly. It has been a long time coming, but I am certain that it will be of benefit to virtually all Clubs and Leagues, no matter what their level. Lazy Sod
But why do it mid season? Do it during the close season, trial it effectively to iron out any bugs and then ready for registrations etc well before the season starts. I await the complaints when the new systems screw up. Beano_ATMFC
It will only be the County FA staff using the new system - which has been tested for well over a year - utilising it initially. Clubs will move online next season. The move over to Whole Game System is being driven by The FA and is necessary because the existing tools available to County FAs through the County Administration System have reached the end of their useful life which, given that CAS went live in around 2005, is perhaps not surprising. Apart from some downtime this week, clubs in Middlesex should not notice any difference in how they deal with discipline between now and the end of the season, which will give those of us who will be using the kit day in, day out time to get used to it and provide guidance to clubs ahead of next season. Big J R
I remember well when the London Ambulance Service changed to an up-graded computer system. A total disaster for weeks. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!
