Baldock_Town
Another disappointing result for us last night. Not a lot between the sides again in what was a scrappy game. After we wasted a few decent chances to go in front, Tom Oram got sent off for retaliation to a challenge, no real complaints, although was surprising not to see a card for the Codicote player who fouled him. We actually played better with ten men and looked more dangerous, but Joel Mason took his goal well when we went to sleep from a free-kick. Iain Robinson then got sent off as last man - again ref had no choice, but Codicote missed the penalty. We still had chances even with nine men, but we had another one of those goal-shy evenings. Nicky Stilwell also made a few good saves to keep us in it to the end. We beat Codicote 1-0 twice in the league last season and they've done us 1-0 twice in the league this! RendonBodgers
Dont be down on yourself BaldockT you'll get motoring again soon. Codicote just like Winslow(but at different ends of the table) are on move picking up excellent points. With Ricky C threading Barnesy and Mase up top seems there going to be hard to live with til the end of the term.

We had a player last year (no longer at the club) who was sent off, came out to watch and then shouted obscenities at the female linesman. Disgraceful and very embarrassing for the club. He had to go on a respect course and a lengthy ban. I'm certain players I've seen sent off always come back out and watch. Hard to police it I guess. Thanks RB, it's only our second season in the SSML and its very different to playing just every Saturday and the odd midweeker in the Herts County. The top sides have the experience and players who have been around the block and that is something we possibly lack. We have held our own, but we haven't found that level of consistency to challenge for promotion. We will get there though.

Maybe give a few of the old guard a call to sign on and play the odd midweek away game, Kev Phillips might be a good starting point?

Any player sent off or Club Official removed from the Technical Area has to leave the vicinity of the Field of Play. Cannot watch the game from the immediate perimeter of the pitch or from the stands. Has to go to the dressing room, club house or anywhere that is away from the pitch. Although (as I understand it) the SSMFL are one of two Supply Leagues 'trialling' this process this season - so it doesn't apply across the board.
