v Weymouth

Yes and we had 2 to bed in, a different formation and the most obvious one is we never let them play.

How come when teams beat us it's because they played better and if we win it's they've had an off day.

RUBBISH WE NEVER LET THEM INTO THE GAME FROM THE START UNTIL THE FINAL WHISTLE.

I know you're close to the Slough team,Epic Rebel but sometimes you have to recognise the strengths and weaknesses of the other side you are playing.

Weymouth are not top for no reason.

I did say that Slough put in a great performance and were well worth the win but to me,there's no denying that Weymouth were not quite at their best.

That quote is not to take away what Slough achieved yesterday.

Brilliant preformed first half and did what was needed to see the game out in the second half. Personally I wad really impressed with Jake Parsons, one of his best games for us, it seemed to make a big difference him playing more central. Ed Smith took his goals very well and that is what is needed against the big teams.

Saying that, the whole team and the managers deserve the credit for taking probably the best team in the league and nullifying any threat they tried to produce. Certainly did not see that result coming and hopefully we can take that momentum into the next two home games.

Having had a chance to watch the highlights, two things stand out, firstly their penalty that was not given, having slowed it down, I have to say what an excellent decision by the ref, as even when you watch it in real time it still looks like a penalty.

At the time we all thought it was 100% a penalty, however Yetton went over in the box under a challenge from Jake, and he did not touch him which is quite clearly seen from the video when slowed down.

Also looking at the 2nd goal, you would have to say it would have been very harsh not to have given it to Eddie, I think he got enough on it, though the last touch was from the defender.

All in all an excellent afternoons work, the only slight negative for me, was I thought that there would have been a bigger turn out, especially with Weymouth having bought 60 or 70 people.

On to Burnham.

'ere,Epic Rebel, did you get out the wrong side of bed on Sunday morning? What's with the capital letters? !

I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea but nor are you ! ha ha !

Rationally,I'll agree to differ with your point of view, here.

Why does it matter that they had an off day 3spirit? Can't you just accept that we were excellent and outplayed them without coming up with some kind of way of putting the team down? The teams at the top constantly capitalise on weakness or off days, so what's wrong with us doing it?

I don't believe I intend to criticise the team, ever. I just happen to believe in the dying art of fair play.

Didn't you read my post before my second message. I thought Slough were superb on Saturday but my brain tells me there are two teams that make up a match.

While,of course, I favour Slough and want them to win.I also have the rationale to see both sides of the tale.

What's wrong with that?

It is nice to be debating after a win against top of the table ;)

I am sure that Weymouth were not at their best, but as others have said a lot of that can be attributed to how we played, whatever the circumstances were, we were by far the better side on the day, not even close in my opinion, and for that we have to take our hats off to the players, as some of them put in tremendous performances.

In general I think we have been playing well as a side since St Neots (last 6 games) and in that time we have played 4 of the so called top teams in Chesham, St Neots, Hungerford and Weymouth (plus Frome and Dorchester), and have 11 points to show from the 6 games which is a great return, and this has also resulted in 3 clean sheets and only 4 goals conceded.

We are heading in the right direction and despite tough decisions at times, myself and Jon are really pleased with how the squad is shaping up.

3Spirit do you think if the game was won in this way by Weymouth that there supporters would be saying are well Slough were missing these players blah blah blah i don.t think so.

I might be along way from seeing the game but like the Weymouth game i hope to be cheering and shouting listening to the boys on youtube in my hotel.

Betsy with John commentating on the Weymouth game bringing up the subject of a drummer would be good thing for more noise for me more young supporters and a trumpet has a better sound.
