v Weymouth

Bit of a slip up last night for Weymouth but Paulton were helped when Weymouth striker Stuart Yetton was substituted last night with a bad cut to the head.

Without him they a lot less effective up front.

A plus point for us is that Chris Shepherd is suspended for Saturday.

I was very impressed with Yetton and Shepherd at their place, so will be delighted if they are both out. I would imagine they have pretty decent replacements for them though!

Looking at the cut that Yetton got I would imagine it would need stitches.

Probably depends if they want to risk patching him up because he's so important to them.

Just to play devils advocate, and I am not one that thinks it makes a huge difference, however

We changed the way we would play in the Bideford game:

Including the Bideford game we have had 11 home games:

We have attacked the shed end first half in 9 games winning 5 (Bideford, Hereford, Paulton, Hitchin and Dorchester) drawing 2 (Merthyr and Chippenham) and losing 2 (Dunstable and Hungerford)

The other 2 games we attacked the shed in the second half and we lost both (Redditch and Cirencester)

The previous 4 before we changed resulted in 2 draws and 2 defeats (Biggleswade and Histon draws with Chesham and Ardley defeats)

Can one of the stattos tell us how many of our goals have been at the shed end................a number of people feel that we score more there than at the dead end !

In the 11 games (since Bideford)

Shed end - 6

Other end - 14

That includes the 2 goals against Hereford which have been taken out.

From a personel point of view, i find it increasingly hard to motivate myself to go the bubbling cauldron that is Beaconsfield. Giving the right lubrication, i like a good sing-song something that is nigh on impossible at the graveyard end but can be achieved in the Shed. The managers often come on here asking for us to get behind the team. Give us the Shed second half this Saturday and we will oblige!

Totally agree any noise down other end is nigh on pointless...and much prefer shooting towards shed end 2nd half

Your statistics,Neil, seem to make the shed end theory a myth.

From a fans perspective,I believe the shed end does create a better atmosphere and that's from a fan that's not standing under it !

Your predecessor's team and his substitutes[when he used them!] did seem to rally late on in games, when attacking the shed end and the fans played a huge part in this,by getting behind the team and cheering and goading the players on.

I wonder if it's a question of confidence within the team.Remember last season and previous season's under Steve Bateman bar one,we have been among the best teams in the division.

This season we are not, and think our players and possibly staff, are probably feeling a bit pressurized to get results.Hence why they are being better kicking the other way.

I would say the opposite Stuart, I don't think we feel under a huge amount of pressure, other than what we put ourselves under, the pressure for us was a hell of a lot more last year.

Also I don't think we have any confidence issues whatsoever in our squad.

Being 100% honest from a managers/players point of view I don't think we care which way we go, I however am a little superstitious, and with our results when we changed I had asked that we continued going the same way, and that is why we have.

It would be great to hear the fans being loud behind the goal on Saturday, and really try to rally the troops in what is one of our toughest games left to play.
