Planning Application

Learning from our friends at Wealdstone, I won't celebrate or count chickens until the stadium is built and the first match is played

Just make sure you don't let a fox into the coop !!

Nope... maybe anyone in the know can shed any light as to the latest developments or when we might expect any news?

That's the trouble with government, both nationl and local.

They take for ever to do anything.

I believe we are waiting for a "couple of months " to expire and then the bulldozers get to work. Waiting is of course a familiar situation for us Slough fans, however, I've reasonable confidence that the work (to build the stadium) will have got under way sometime during the summer.

Here's hoping.....!

As Lynch Hill Academy want to be up and running in their 'first phase' of temporary accommodation in September I'd like think it will be sooner rather than later.

Of course the headlines 'bring in the bulldozers' and 'bulldozers to move in within 2 months' could of been just paper talk.

We've never heard anything official from the club.

Something needs to happen as the planning permission granted on 4th December 2014 for the community sports facility has this clause -

"The development hereby permitted shall be commenced within three years from the

date of this permission."

Only 2 1/2 years left to get it started!

Where's the money coming from and does the council have it in the budget?

When will a contractor be engaged?

Plus many more unanswered questions!

Have trust and faith that we would have been told if there were any problems.

Most planning applications, when granted have a 3 year limit on them.

This is to stop people applying for, being granted planning permission, then doing nothing for years and years.  An extension can always be applied for with extenuating circumstance.

Good luck, and go for it !

So what is the date that the building works will commence?

What is the date that the ground will be complete?

Two very simple questions - who has the answers?

I suppose you can't have a completion date until you have a start date.

Agree that it would be nice to hear something rather than stonewall silence.

Builders don't just turn up at the drop of a hat.

If you don't ask questions - you don't get answers.

As it appears no one on here can be bothered to ask the questions, I have.

Very easy to do you just go onto Slough Councils web site and ask the questions - are the funds available? when will the building work start? and when will it be finished?

Took all of 5 mins to do.

When/if I get an answer I will post it on here.

Agree it's gone very silent on the ground front and I think we can forget about any building work starting THIS summer which was what one quote said. Appreciate there is still hurdles and red tape to overcome but some communication on the project would be nice so rumours don't start up again.

The only hurdles/red tape that I'm aware off were 'some relatively simple obligations' and the how the project was going to be funded.
