No reply yet from the council.

Hardly surprising.

Keep your eyes on their website.

One of the questions I raised was where is the money for the new community sports facility going to come from.

Well looking at the 2014-2015 budget document from Slough council its hard to see.

Attached is the budget.

However when you look at the capital projects (page 30) there is no sign of any expenditure relating to it even though the expenditures go out 5 years hence.

So if anyone can show me where the money is allocated in the budget I would be most welcome.

I'm not saying it's definitely it but there is money allocated to the 'Community Investment fund' in the general fund section.

A lot of the money for football stadiums comes from the Football Foundation and Sport England.... it's worth reading the entire article that Brighton has linked to in his thread about FC United and their new £6.3m stadium to understand the level of financial support these organisations provide.

I can advise that last week I had a meeting with Slough Council and have subsequently received a follow up email which was positive. I can also confirm that whilst the wheels of Council appear slow they are moving! The club will be having another follow up  meeting within the next few weeks time when we should be in a position to provide an update. I am hoping that rather than speculate (and I appreciate there is a lot to speculate on!) we can wait the few weeks when everything should be clearer. Appreciated.

I don't think that we will see any ,movement on building work on the Arbor Vale School site, until the new library is finished. As that is apparently where the West Wing is going. So no builders on site until after then

I thought the West Wing were going somewhere else temporarily until the Curve was finished?

Just a quick update from the council, still no reply to my information request.

Looks like their communications department are as quick as their project planning department.

Thats par for the course with most councils.

Do you really think that if Joe Public send an e-mail asking stuff that could be private, you'd get an answer?????

If you look on the councils site they have sections where you can contact them with enquires.

This is a public facility that is being built, not a private residential property.

As this is public money being spent it should be in the public domain - or are there "FIFA Private" type deals going on?

I know exactly where you are coming from epicrebal.  As a retired LGO, I know only far too well that there are certain matters that are not for the public domain at any given time.

However  -  It IS a councils responsibility at the very least, to respond to any communication received, and possibly explain a reason why a direct answer cannot be given at that specific time.
