Planning Application

I came across this snippet in the Slough Observer Sporrts review of 2014 on their Website

The New Year also promises plenty for The Rebels after planning application for a new stadium was submitted in December.

Does anyone know what is happening or shed some light on this, or is it just whishful thinking on the part of the Slough Observer :D

the educatin dept have put in a planning application for the site that compliments our own application submitted at the same time in december . we are now waiting on the government to give the thumbs up ( namely mr pickles) as part of the planning falls into a green belt area, though this is not a shoe in it is thought to be just a rubber stamp excercise, though most of us are just holding our breath and will not believe it until we are paying at the turnstiles, and do you blame us!

I actually thought the planning appliction was going to wait until after Mr Pickles had approved the change of use of the site. That is if the plot of land is big eough for a football ground. Although reading what has been said before the plot is big enough. thank you for the info :D

Andrew look at this,

http://www2.slough.g...riteria.display

And enter 'Arbour Vale' in Location, and date range from and to '04/12/2014'.... you will see the application listed 'APPLICATION FOR FULL PLANNING PERMISSION FOR THE ERECTION OF A COMMUNITY STADIUM'.

Supporting documents are now in the Media Items tab, and some drawings can be seen in the (06) section.

Fill in as said and look at 06

EDIT   The way I understand it is that the I's have been dotted and T's crossed, It's just a case of tweaking the plans a bit and then full steam ahead.

(fingers crossed)

Have the plans been submitted to Mr Pickles yet?

As was said on the other thread related to this, if you go to the Council's planning portal as above, there is a section of documents now on there related to the designs for the clubhouse and multi use sports areas. I don't know much about the process, but I would have thought that if things still needed to be signed off then they wouldn't be making plans yet?

Having said that, having had a quick look at these plans for the clubhouse, they do look really good with plenty of things going into it to ensure both the Club and the community facilities are in place. Even if the bar is on the second floor, it's no different to Weymouth or a couple of other grounds we've been to. Looks really promising that we could get something we can be really proud of as a town as well as a club. Let's hope they follow through with these plans.

As I've said and understand it the DofE have handed over the area and now Slough council are oking the plans.

Basically Slough Council are applying to Slough Council for planning permission.

Hope they don't turn themselves down....

So as far as you know ER, Eric Pickles has handed over the land to SBC to allow SBC to have a School and Sports Community Facilities built on the land and the fact that it is green belt land is no longer a problem?

Once any tweaking that may be required has been done It will only need SBC to OK the final Planning Application and it's full steam ahead?

Q why would planing go in if the land wasn't there to build on?
