The biggest prob we have is that the majority of players are not contracted and therefore can play every day of the week if they wish.

Its a shame and I dont agree with it but if I was still playing...saying for ETFC...and wasn't selected for Saturdays game....what do I do..?

As there is no reserve side the alternative is to play with your mates on a Sunday morning.

i know a ryman prem player who got in to trouble for turning out for a supporters team because just like many people all he wanted to do was play football.

I agree with Foxy, without a reserve side (yet) this will continue to be a potential problem for us. Clearly players not always involved in the first team, or that are usually on the bench, will want to get a game somewhere.

I vaguely thought though that a player registered (not contracted) with a Senior club could not play for a Junior club? As all Sunday clubs have Junior status, wouldn't that prevent them turning out on a Sunday?

Most of our players are not allowed to play sunday morning football. This is because of their ages it is against F.A regulations for them to play 2 games in 24 hours!
[color:"blue"]I always thought that was an FA rule, but evidently it is not. We emailed the FA and asked them, they said it was up to the individual. I think some leagues add it to their rules though, but normally only applies to players upto the age of 16

8 a: Contract players, as defined in Football Association Rules, are not permitted to play in the League.
[color:"black"] This is an FA Rule, but I would think very hard to implement at this level. Unfortunately, young players just breaking into Senior football, still want to play with their 'mates' on a Sunday. They don't want to let their Sunday Managers down, so end up playing too much football.

If a player is on a "blue" contract he can't play for any other team without the FA's say-so and this includes loans/Sunday leagues/etc. Contracts are with the FA and registrations are with leagues. Obviously, if a player is on a "blue" he'd also have to be registered with whatever leagues his club is entered in. There is also registration for cup competitions which is why players can get cup-tied. Non-contract players can be registered with different clubs in different leagues, which is how we had Snowsill playing for us while he was also registered for Billericay in the Isthmian League.
