Yes, of course it's on, but as Bad Guy says, it might be a little chilly!

 

As one who has spent many years at both Chipstead and Banstead I can confirm that the two venues really do get cold, but Merland Rise has the wind factor too which makes it the colder venue, even if the High Road temperature may even be a couple of degrees lower.

 

 

Was at the game, in fairness not as cold as one first thought it would be.  :rolleyes:

 

What a crazy game, especially second half.

 

It was 1-0 to Epsom at half time then the craziness started.

 

Times are approx. but you'll get the meaning...every attack was a goal !!!  ...and both defences were a shamble and poor in my opinion.

 

8.30 Epsom 1-0

8.55 Epsom 2-0

        Epsom had a player sent off AGAIN !  How many is that E&E this season ?

9.10 Epsom 2-1

9.16 Epsom 3-1

9.18 Epsom 3-2

9.24 Epsom 3-3

9.31 Epsom 4-3 !!!

 

5 goals in an @20 min spell....

 

Great for the neutral but not for players and managers alike I'd imagine !  

 

A rollacoaster ride it has to be said.but enjoyable  :D

As for the sending off, it was our third in consecutive matches, the first time in club history that it has happened. The thing is that I don't believe we are a dirty or even a particularly physical side. However, that is now six red cards, one shy of our club record so it must be a concern.

 

Luckily we have a very clear policy on players paying their fines this year, so it is only costing the club in terms of their absences through suspension weakening our line up. In the past the club would have lost a lot of money over something like this.

 Good report we had a much weakerned team out wth no central defenders available at all so it was a good performnece and if we could take our chances who knows. Good luck in the next round.

Youth Match  : Dorking Wanderers 3 v Dorking 3 in front of over 100 at Westhumble apparently!

 

Saw this 'needle' match advertised and thought I'd pop along.

 

Arrived 30 minutes late as couldn't find the place. Do you think there is a postcode listed anywhere on the web for DWFC? Nope. There is one listed on Wikipedia but having followed it with the SatNav, it took me somewhere called Mickleham! No signs on the main road and a tiny little entrance. No wonder they desperately want to takeover Meadowbank.

 

And that wasn't the least unpleasant experience of the evening.

 

Considering this was a youth team game, the conduct of the home team's players and staff was appalling. I've never heard so many F's and C's in kids football. One particularly nasty moment came when another away player went down after meeting an elbow. He was clearly not in the best shape as he staggered off the pitch only to have the home UNDER-18 keeper urging the ref to "hurry up and get the c*nt off the f*cking pitch".

 

This is the same keeper who later smashed the opposing striker with double-studs-up, chest high assault. Penalty awarded to the away side but to the surprise of almost every one at the match, the dreadful Mr Critchlow decided to take no further action.

 

There's more: a clear and deliberate targetting of the away side's 6 and 9 with extremely wild challenges (leading to the former's withdrawal through injury).

 

Note the DWFC Twitter feed is lauding the match as a great advert for local youth football. Couldn't disagree more and I'd go so far to say that I feel sorry for the young footballers of the town if this is how they are being raised.

I won't comment any further than that, having witnessed a so called 'Friendly' between DFC and DWFC a few seasons ago !
