Banbury fixture?

Well I've kept my ticket and look forward to the replay in what I guess will be the end of July.

It's utterly contemptuous behaviour by the FA and I think the Southern League deserves a little more respect from them.
They just need a report from all parties concerned, including the Police who quickly attended the scene and then conclude that the 3pts goes to Slough Town, particularly as, but not solely because, we were winning at the time.

Any other decision taken and this will set a very poor precedent as it is a clear message to fans that if your team is losing, simply cause a bit of a ruckus and the match will be abandoned and (eventually) replayed.

This cannot be a unique situation so why would the FA take so long in making a decision?

As far as we know the FA have no affiliation to Banbury but it's very probable that the Southern League do.

The Southern League have said that they also cannot understand why the FA are taking so long but unfortunately it looks like we can only take their word for this.

Looking at some of the Shenanigans that the Southern League get up to, the Hereford debacle being one prime example, I certainly have my doubts.

Don't forget that Banbury's version of events will be very different to the reality. I'm sure their view was that the referee wasn't hounded by a member of their management on the pitch at half time, and there were dozens of stewards protecting the tunnel area and none of their stewards added to the problem, and it was only a small empty bottle and it accidentally slipped out of somebody's hand etc etc.

Southern league say replay the fixture. Utter shambles and awful precedent to set. In future if we are losing at half time, we have a green light to bottle officials to get the game abandoned and start again at 0-0 in the future

Exactly, how can the league not see by setting this ridiculous decision, fans of any other sides in this league will now know what they can do to abandon the game and give their side an advantage! It's utter nonsense and shows the level of intelligence running the league

Awful precedent, and I'm certain the club will appeal. Can't see many going if it is replayed. Who's going to have kept their original ticket stub? They'd have to let people in for free surely. Poor all round but what I expected.

There's a fourth official at Premier League games so might not have been an issue.

Terrible decision but absolutely what I expected to be honest. The people running the game in this country have proven time and time again to be dribbling imbeciles.

Replaying or not hopefully Banbury have been punished via fine or whatever and forced to provide much better stewarding and security for the players staff and officials particularly around the tunnel area. Certainly didn't exist that day or at some other teams we have visited this season come to think of it

Hopefully the club will appeal this decision. Its a charter for fans to decide the outcome of matches and sets a very dangerous precedent.

Unfortunately the Southern league has shown they are not capable of running a league within the rules as has been shown by being taken in by a conman via the Hereford farce.

One can only hope the Mr Norman does the decent thing and resigns.

I would have thought it was pre-requisite that both Banbury and Slough would have received a full report/reply from the FA and Southern League on how they came to their decisions, including details of any sanctions/fines imposed.
