I've downloaded that pdf, cropped and enlarged it so it shows just the stadium plan. Now not sure if I should just place that on here as an attachment or is someone going to say it's now allowed!!! (even though anyone can access these files and do what I've done???).

I had a quick look through the files on there and there is very little mention of thy community sports facility beyond what is seen in the planning drawings.

My assumption is that planning a school could be much more difficult and therefore had to be considered more at this early stage?

I find it funny how it's always referred to as a 'COMMUNITY SPORTS FACILITY' as if they're totally scared of saying football ground or stadium!

I really hope this is the start of actual progression and not another false dawn. I don't mind if it's another 2 or 3 years before it's actually built, I just want some 'concrete' guarantee (pun intended!). I think we'd all be happy if there's a decent sized clubhouse, where we can all enjoy a drink and something to eat (hopefully knowing some/all of what we consume goes to the club...), a covered stand (ideally behind the goal and not on the 'side') and room for expansion should we progress up the leagues.

Obviously a long way to go and by all accounts, a lot to thrash out between the club and the council but some terrific news to end the year on and a little glimmer of hope for us all.

It will be interesting to see what we actually end up with in terms of cover and terracing. The plans seem to suggest that there will be some kind of structures all the way round, looking like two covered ends and covering around the sides in the middle, with terracing perhaps making up the rest of the sides. But we could equally end up with very little of that so we shall see.

Looks like just terracing behind both goals to me. But yes even if there's no terracing or cover, just a main stand and clubhouse I'd take that over any groundshare.

I'd expect the design to change a lot so I wouldn't get too hung up about details on these plans. A lot of it will come down to how much money is available.

This is the problem, how much and who is funding it? Before it was the house builders funding it but if its down to the council this time have they got sufficient funds unless alot of grants can be used?

Regarding the planning application, if you go here:-

And enter 'Arbour Vale' in Location, and date range from and to '04/12/2014'.... you will see the application listed 'APPLICATION FOR FULL PLANNING PERMISSION FOR THE ERECTION OF A COMMUNITY STADIUM'.

 

There aren't any supporting documents in the Media Items tab yet though.

Going back to the stadium issue, the agenda for the next planning meeting on January 8th is available but Arbour Park is not on it. The next one is in mid February. Maybe then....

I was informed at the Chesham game that once the Planning Application had gone in, the Government had a certain number of weeks to give it a yes or no and that time would have lapsed by the end of January?
