Can we be play-off challengers....

According to Rob Anderson, the Lynch Hill Academy's aim is to be up and running by 1st January 2016.

As the aim is to have the football ground to 'run in tandem' with the school I'd expect to hear something sooner rather than later.

As promised at the meeting with Rob Anderson, Steve Easterbrook is being kept in the loop with all that's happening behind the scenes, so as soon as Steve knows hopefully we will know.

The only ground that would suit us (apart from a nice new one at "Orchard Park") is Wexham Park, sad to say!

Presumably we wouldn't want to burn our chances of a new ground by making platitudes to the owners of WP at this point. Everything is negotiable however, so if all else fails we could go down that avenue and seek a return.

My preference would be Maidenhead, but that would rely on H&Y not being there and of course the cost.

Then it would be Windsor or Burnham.

I would prefer SYCOB, Windsor or Burnham to Maidenhead ! As usual it comes down to where one lives.

Wexham Park would be my preferred choice but for obvious reasons I can see why we are not looking there.

Sorry Bernie, didn't see your post,as we seem to concur.

How long are we going to wait for an answer to this new ground issue?

Feels like we're on the end of an never ending ball of string! If you get my drift.

I know my patience has run out, I used to get really annoyed regarding the whole new stadium issue but now my view (in light of recent personal factors) is 'what happens, will happen'. I'm not going to worry about it, if we end up ground-sharing for ever or merging with Beaconsfield SYCOB, Burnham or Windsor, or even go back to Wexham Park then fine with me.

Presumably the ground would be part of:-

Slough Borough Council

Notification of Decisions - 1st December 2014 to 28th February 2015

Cabinet 15th December 2014 (Chalvey Community Centre 6.30pm, public and press can attend)

Leisure Strategy

To consider a report seeking approval of the 5 year community leisure action plan and progress on replacement of facilities at Montem.

(As per this Council document - page 6)

A few things to consider if people are suggesting changing grounds next season. As it stands Holloways Park needs a bit of work around seating numbers plus a few other minor bits to meet the ground grading required for Southern Premier. Nothing to worry about and there are people working on this.

However, the league rules strictly prohibit you moving grounds to satisfy ground grading requirements, i.e. You cannot get promoted and move to a different ground just because it has the required grading. So, if we did choose to look elsewhere next year, we'd probably have to pay to bring HP upto Southern Prem standard just to satisy the condition that we weren't moving to gain promotion. That would be a quite ludicrous thing to do.
