May I take this opportunity of congratulating Enfield Town on an excellent result today and hope they will have such a run it will bring back some of that former glory associated with the Vase and the ESL. Concord join Enfield Town in the draw as their game was rained off at Arundel. Bad luck to Barkingside (0-3 at Chertsey) and Burnham Ramblers (2-5 at Whitehawk, Brighton). Basildon United progress in the Cherry Red, partly due to an old favourite of the ESL, Ben Barnett. Waltham Abbey, sadly, lost out.

Well done today guys, hope you go on to have a good run. To be honest I thought we gave you a real test today and made enough chances that we should have got something from the game. That said you all made a great day and hope we can get to play you again - Ryman Div 1 would be an ideal place! Cheers all & good luck!

I must say, reception at Flackwell Heath could not have been bettered. Loved the pasties at 50p - surely underpriced? Tea from proper cups was a bonus and as for your keeper Matt Pollard, well he did your club proud by being a good sport during the match and afterwards by donating his match fee to Shannon. A return visit to your ground at some later date would be a pleasure.

PS did I win the team scratchcard? We had to leave with the side defore the result was announced.

yeah well done FH for making it a great day out (not sure if the best team won) Matt Pollard was great entertainment, as well as being a real gent. His conduting the singing in the second half was a real laff.

For me today was a great day and what football at this level is about, couple of beers and the players providing entertainment, and not just with their playing abilities.

Van we have Potter's Bar away in the next round ?

I agree about the keeper a real gent,is he the first to make a request for a song?conducting and singing with the support first class but short attempt to dance was poor. Also i do feel sorry for chopper at times, all these people in the ground and the only time anyone is near him, they kick footballs at him, while the opposition keeper has us.

Can I just add that we phoned Cleggy from the M25 and asked him to find out if there was a car parking space for the disabled in the car park. He did some running around and when we got to the game, there it was. Shannon's own space specifically reserved for her.

Did we encounter people wanting the space, moaning and groaning that they could not have a reserved space either? No we certainly did not. The reception was first class and I thank you on behalf of the 'Happy family'.

Marilyn served an excellent cup of 'strongish' coffee in the board room and it kept me awake all evening! Never have I had a coffee with a Government Health warning on the cup! Only joking, but Marilyn will know what I mean.

Thanks for the hospitality and again thanks to Mat Pollard. It's what football at our level should all be about. Shame the 'professionals' cannot take a leaf out of his book.

So pleased you all enjoyed your day. I know some times it can be easy to be gratious when you win but we always try to be a welcoming club and it is clear your comments are a genuine reflection of your day with us. Still smarting a bit ourselves from not getting anything from the game but that always eases with time, new friendships last.

Cheers all at ETFC!

I've only just got on line this morning but I would like to extend a belated thank you to the officials of Flackwell Heath for reserving a disabled space for my mini bus and, of course, a big thank you to Matt Pollard for donating his match fee to Little Miss Happy. She was absolutley thrilled to have her photo taken with him. The money will go towards a special cover for her wheelchair so that watching footie in the rain will be more comfortable and less wet for her and I won't end up with curvature of the spine trying to keep a brolly over her chair.

Flackwell Heath and Matt Pollard are a credit to themselves and to non-league football and I hope we meet in Ryman 1 next season.

All seconded by Invisible Student and myself.

Was it only me (and an elderly FH supporter who I was talking to) who noticed that the ref appeared to raise his hand for indirect free kick, then lowered it to sort out the wall and so on, blew his whistle for the kick to be taken but did not raise his arm again. Billy the Cat scored and the goal was given.

Tell me I'm wrong please ......

A bloody good strike to. Matt Pollard didn't stand a chance against that shot! Glad it went in the corner rather than in the middle of the goal as well. If it had Little Miss Happy and I would have been splattered with mud! Mind you some mud might have covered up Little Miss Happy's black eye.

Ye, sorry guys, just seen the comments on the other thread.

I thought we were slightly the better team for the first half of the first half, if you see what I mean. FH then came much more into the game and we snuck a goal just before half time.

FH then pressed strongly for an equaliser throughout the second half, and would probably have acheived it but for some poor finishing (conditions may not have helped) and stalwart defending. Our counter-attacking was way below our usual standard. Ian Cooper was strangley quiet.

Still. we're in the hat and had a good (if wet) day out.

Was Ian carrying an injury.

I would have subbed him a lot earlier he was getting absolutely nothing out of the Flackwell number 3 who had a very good game.

We could have bought on Riley and played with 1 up front which would have given us greater strength in midfield which got pretty well overrun for most of the match.

Just before Billy the Cat ran up the Ref shouted to the keeper that it was a direct kick, so no problem there!.

I'd just like to add my thanks as well to everyone at Flackwell Heath for the excellent day we had, from the really helpful guy in the car park to the people on the turnstiles, a real credit to there club.

It would be nice to go back for a pre-season game next year don't you think......
