Why doesn't the club want to win a cup?

The chairman recently spoke about the club taking the cups in which it enters more seriously. Obviously this doesn't include the League Cup given that three senior players were rested following the Bognor game - would they have been fit had we been playing a league game? Would it not be fairer to supporters for the club to notify us of when a weakened side is to be put out so that we, like the directors, do not bother going to such matches. This club desperately needs to win, or at least be seen trying to win, something to lift it from the depression of the past couple of years.
