v Dunstable Town

Terrible today. Didn't even test a sub keeper (was he even a keeper) who had to use electrical tape to put a number on his own back.

3rd was a good strike but the first two came from players wandering unchallenged through the centre of our midfield.

Can understand why dobbo wanted a break second half but wouldn't it have been easier to sub him? He seemed desperate to get sent off (was very lucky in my opinion) not to get a red for the first challenge so made sure he got a red a few minutes later. Outbattled throughout, even worse than Tuesday.

Sure the managers have a plan b for St Neots, cos if we play like that we will get thumped!

Shades of Tuesday..........once again we had no first touch , meaning they had even more of the ball than they could probably believe.Still cant work out what shape/formation we were supposed to be playing as players looked lost as they chased shadows.Again like Tuesday the opposition was stringing passes together and we just couldnt emulate that...........sadly seems like even the basics have gone missing.

Is it that teams now know how to play us and giving thoughts among supporters that for some of the players this is a league too high ?

Having said that 12th at this stage shows that we have sometimes got things right..........just got to remember how we did it and begin to do it again,

we were definatly playing youth park football today, why all of a sudden we cannot hold or pass the ball, there was no movement off the ball, and we seemed to crave the company of dunstable when we had the ball and stayed away from them when they had it. too much respect was payed , and how did the officials miss the handball in the second half, defiinate penalty and possibly a red.

Another loss where we were miles from our best and deserved to lose. Not going to panic as we are bound to lose games but its the manner of defeat that concerns.

I know the managers will not stand for this sort of performance though and will do whatever needs to be done to stop this becoming a crisis

As soon as we went down to ten men our shape improved and our passing accuracy improved.

Maybe that was plan B or C.

This was not the first time this season that we played without any real desire, at the moment we seem to blow hot and cold ,though we had been doing better when the opposition were better.

Jakw Parsons was my main man yesterday

You won't believe it ,Sue but I agree with you.Although I thought his name is Jake ! :)

While no Slough fan can be happy with yesterday's team performance,I do feel we were a touch unlucky in how the game panned out.

Initially I thought Slough started well but conceded a soft goal by not getting tight to the Dunstable No 9 [inih Effione].

We were then unlucky to lose Billy Jeffery's to what looks like a bad knee injury and then Jamie McClurg picks up a knock and while McClurg is hobbling,Dunstable scored their second, and three minutes into stoppage time for the first half,Effione hits a wonder strike which looked virtually unstoppable.

Have to say I thought Tom Moran was outstanding and rarely have I been so impressed by the agility of such a tall centre half. For me,he could play a number of positions in our team and needs to be a regular in our starting 16.

While I don't say he is better than any of the centre halves we do have, his ability to move out from the back with the ball has to be utilised.

I would go as far as saying he could do a very good job as a holding midfielder.

I also think we should look to get Adam Cash back on loan,as an option on the left to Dobbo or Ryan Parsons.

As said at start, Jake Parsons was my man of the match for sheer hard work and a never say die attitude. Also thought Sean Fraser did well, too.

Dunstable won fair and square but I didn't think they were anything other than a mid table team.

On our current form,we will struggle to hold our position in mid table,as I feel a few of our players are struggling to get over injuries or make an impact to Premier Division standards, and so this is hampering the way we play and the team in general.

However,I don't want to sound harsh as I'm not expecting miracles in our maiden season in this higher division.
