LoucasX
Loving the Div 1 league table tonight. If it stays like that with Hatfield and WGC getting promoted, that is 2 more local derbies for Hertford next season. The main challengers are Bedford and Risborough Rangers. All 4 play each other on 10th January. I will be watching closely and cheering on our neighbours along the A414.
Backroom1
We are excited by it too. Looking forward to welcoming Hatfield to Herns Lane on 27th December. We have made no secret that our one and only aim for this season is promotion and so we are delighted with the position we have managed to put ourelves into, albeit still with 26 games left! We have had 3 key players suspended over the last month, but we have managed to make it through unscathed. We welcome them all back on Saturday and hope to continue our run of good form. Neutral
How large is your squad, Backroom1? If the weather turns ugly your end of season back log could be horrendous. That's where squad depth means so much.
Backroom1
I agree Neutral. Put it this way, we had both of our regular centre backs suspended last night, plus 3 regular forward players injured/ill. I would say that with what we sent to Harpenden last night, plus those 5 we have a first team squad of 19. Plus we have 2/3 in the reserves that are on the fringe. Squad depth was our issue last year which is why we had a rocky spell in the middle of the season. Something we needed to address this year. You might not believe this, but we have already played 28 games this season - but only 14 in the league!
