Under 16's Membership Scheme...

Ofiicial

Recommended Posts

The Directors of the Football Club have now had the opportunity of reviewing the position with regard to the reduced rates for under 16's and also the 'child accompanied by an adult' schemes....this review was held as a result of the difficulties experienced at the previous two Tuesday evening home games....

As from the 1st December 2003 the following new schemes will replace the previous mentioned special rates...

1/

All under 16's gaining entry to the ground on discounted rates and unaccompanied will need to register with the clubs official youth membership scheme...to qualify for this scheme the applicant will need to call into the club office bringing with them a new 'passport type' photograph...proof of age and proof of address...

a form will be completed showing the applicants full name and address...parents names and contact telephone numbers...

once that has been completed a pass bearing the photograph will be issued and the new member will then only have to produce the pass and pay the reduced fee to gain entry to the ground...all such members will be strictly confined to reserved places in the east stand at the clubhouse end unless accompanied by their parent/parents...

once accepted for membership and registered the new member will receive a signed photograph of the first team squad...and will also continue to be eligible for free coach travel to away games by showing the membership pass to the coach driver...

2/

alternatively all under 16's may enter the ground at the reduced rate and without a membership pass and sit outside of the reserved area...ONLY if they are accompanied by and sit with their parent/parents. Any under 16 found in the ground without a membership pass and unaccompanied will be asked to leave the ground.

3/

All spectators AND under 16's willing to pay the full entry will be allowed access to the ground on the strict understanding that they will be removed instantly if guilty of unruly and disruptive behaviour. ...should that action be required then NO discount shall be given to the offending person...

4/

IN THE EVENT OF ANY DAMAGE BEING CAUSED TO THE GROUND BY ANY SPECTATOR THEN THE STEWARDS WILL BE UNDER INSTRUCTIONS TO HAND THE OFFENDER/OFFENDERS OVER TO THE POLICE.

5/

all under 12's may still gain entry free of charge as long as they are accompanied by and also stay in the vicinity of... their parent/parents throughout the duration of the game.

6/

as from the 1st December 2003 the stewards will be under instructions to prevent youngsters runmning around the perimeter areas of the pitch and also moving from one seat to another during the match...

before the match..at half time...and after the match we would request please that youngsters moving around the ground do so only in the presence of their parents whenever possible..

it is unfortunate that the club have had to take these measures but in the light of the increase in attendences...the higher profile of the club....the need for more spectator comfort at the matches and the unfortunate behaviour of several youngsters at recent games...it was felt that there really was no alternative but to bring a disciplined youth membership into place thereby enabling the club to deal with any poor and unnacceptable behaviour by unaccompanied youngsters....at its source.

any persons not adhering to the new arrangements as from the 1st December 2003 will be refused access to the ground on match days.

The new scheme will be advertised in the local press and also in the match day programmes.

exciting times lie ahead and the minority must not be allowed to spoil the enjoyment of the genuine majority.....the club are sure that all genuine fans will support these new arrangements and understand the need for them in the light of recent occurrences. As our club grows... these and similar issues will need to be addressed and your views and comments on these issues have been much appreciated..

thank you..

All very laudable and good to see that action's being taken where some clubs would just ignore it. Only one minor problem I can see, which may or may not have been thought of. Away fans.

I know for a fact that there's some clubs (ours included) where Under 16s travel on their own to an away ground and they've been caught out with having to pay full price due to similar schemes. Usually they've been lucky enough to meet other away fans willing to pretend to be a guardian, but on one occasion I can think of a few years back there was one particular fan who actually couldn't get in. Fair? Me thinks not. I'd suggest some way of sorting the scheme out so that away supporters don't get caught out like this.

Good shout by Hendonboy - but I think it was a case that HFC had to do something - rather than nothing.

Side issue - Thing is we'll all be carrying ID cards in a few years - I would rather live in a country where it wasn't necessary as an adult to have to carry one, but there you go.

Not having read up on what exactly's gone on, like I said, it's good that something has been done to solve any problems before they get out of hand. Just that it looks like thought needs to go into how those who travel unaware don't get caught out.

that's an easy one hendon boy....just inform the club how many youngsters are coming and we'll issue temp membership for them.....

sorry...but there will be no compromise here....

as you all know....we dont do compromise....

on this issue we can't...

sorry if it offends..but the die is cast...

I'm not talking about just our club or anything. I know that something could be sorted out, but my point is that you need to find a way of making it clear to the away fans so they're aware. I know, and possibly one or two other people who've stumbled across this thread. Fat lot of good that's gonna do when for the sake of argument half a dozen kids travel up from somewhere like Bognor by public transport with no idea of your new policy, so not having organised anything through their club. I'm also fully aware that there's unlikely to be any change in it, just be aware it could potentially make you even more unpopular with some of the other clubs in this league (although that naturally doesn't bother you )

Just doesn't seem like the all welcoming family club you were telling us all about over the summer on the Isthmian board any more UU.

oh dear...the good and righteous Hendon Messiah has smelt a way of causing trouble...

I shouldn't really have to tell you this dear boy cos it really is too obvious for words but we have already sent a letter to all clubs in our league advising them of the new 'Junior Urchin' scheme and how it will affect them or not as the case may be and we have also have written to the Ryman League and the FA....

all visitors to our ground will be treated exactly the same way as before and will now enter the ground from the new turnstyle block that went up last week on the other side of the main gates..(and no its not segregation...its just a seperate turnstyle entrance with signs on it...)

any away youngsters travelling alone to our ground..(which will be about 20 inclusive for the rest of the season) shall be allowed in at the reduced rate and seated in a special stand on the east side of the ground where stewards can look after them...alternatively they will be allowed onto the covered terraced area usually occupied by visiting away supporters in numbers..(not a frequent occurence)..

now here's a thing for you to ponder in your self righteous indignation....

your ground is a health hazzard and not fit for animals let alone youngsters...the toilets are filthy and so are the refreshment 'cabins'...

so far so good there then....

your prices are outrageous and you do nought to encourage youngsters...your Manager is a lout who abused the visiting Urchin fans including a Directors wife...and your boardroom was the most unwelcoming one I've ever been in....(we dont open up here until 2.15...)....f*** me... are you sure....ha ha ha....

hhhmmm....glass houses comes to mind...

attend to your own problems and leave us to run our happy promotion chasing... FA Cup tie winning club with its nice big crowds (1200 yesterday and 1100 on Tuesday and all 4000 tickets sold for the Tranmere game)...

and you f*** off and do some housework at your pigstye....

you see mr '..owner moderator... administrator... chief executive... managing director... and chairman of the hendon website.....we dont pretend that we have nothing to worry about when things go wrong...we deal with 'em quickly and keep our house in order....

pity some others that will remain unmentioned dont do the same but adopt a Macawber like stance and ignore their problems until they get out of hand....

and YOU...should be more responsible and supportive of other clubs seeking to keep good order in their grounds...

christ I do love a bit of non league hypocrisy on a Sunday....

Hang on a minute UU... did I not say well done on doing something about whatever trouble it was you appear to have had rather than pushing it behind the scenes like many other clubs would do and have done? Was I simple criticising? I believe not.

As for it being all to obvious that you've sent a letter to all other clubs - given the administration in this league, no it's not. After all some clubs don't even send pen-pics out to away clubs, others regularly send out info which they know to be wrong to travelling (or home) clubs.

All I simply asked, was what you were going to do about away fans, to make sure they weren't left out in the cold. If that to you seems to be "self rightous" then fair enough, but I'm sure you full well know, it was intended as genuine concern for those who might have got caught out, probably not through any fault of anyone, had the rules been implemented exactly as Official's post suggested. You have to admit that it wasn't clear. The fact that you have thought things through properly is great - one of the first (if not actually the first) clubs to implement such a policy at this level while considering all the possible side-effects.

As for us, we've got problems with our ground, we know that, and we've been through this before. I honestly don't see what relevance it has to anything that's been said in this thread already, and I don't see what I can say that hasn't already been said about it. I also know that I don't need to mention that plans are in motion for a move away from Claremont Road anyway, and that for us to spend the one million to bring it up to a decent condition would be insane for a club such as ourselves. You know all that.

Our prices (more relevant) - yes, high for adults. Probably more than we should be charging, but unfortunately economics dictate for us On the other hand, for Students, OAPs and U-16s, they're amongst the cheapest in the league. Schemes for the kids - yep, there's one. I'll be fair, and appreciate the fact that you probably weren't aware of that.

It's bizzare y'know. People actually feel the need to bite without any bait being laid these days.

comments noted Hendon boy but its not about biting without reason...you had three pops at the thread ending with an obvious slant at me....

now all I know is this...I dont come on your board interfering with your club politics or policies and I see no reason for you to come on ours other than to pass an opinion which you are welcome to do....

labouring the point however is another matter....it always has the ring of mischief making about it...

if that was not your intention then I am sorry for my harsh remarks...
