Great big headline on page 7 - "Stadium 'no good for us residents'" suggests that work has actually started on the feasibility study.

 

"They had turned up to hear the outline of a feasibility study written by Slough Town FC in conjunction with Slough Council which has set up a team to overlook the regeneration project."

 

We keep hearing about all of Britwell's residents opposing the stadium, but not the regeneration, and the main complaint about the increase in hooliganism. Holligans would probably be worried enough about going to Britwell, let alone the true football fans!

 

Seems Mr. Deaner has a bit of work to do with the council to win these people over let alone find the finances as rumours of over 300 houses and a hotel have been dispelled by Slough Borough Councils Project manager Christine Howe.

These people are obviously blind to the facts. Either that or they are being fed rubbish by local councillors opposed to the regeneration. I purposely say opposed to the regeneration rather than the stadium because without the stadium they WILL NOT GET any regeneration whatsoever. Something the Independent Britwell Councillors and everyone else seem unwilling to accept.

 

What hooligans? Can someone who is opposed to the regeneration come on this forum and tell us...what hooligans? They are obviously confusing Slough Town in 2003 with Chelsea, Millwall et al of 1983. There will be more people arrested tonight in the town centre than there have been for the last ten years at Slough Town Football Club. If the people opposed to this scheme cannot come up with a better line of defence than to quote mythical hooliganism problems then they might as well give up now.

I think this maybe the observer doing their bit to stir up trouble for a story...as they have nothing in the sports pages !

 

Reports ..I don't think we have seen a reporter at one of our games this season !

 

Would it not be good to report good things just for change ??

 

or is that too much to ask for....

 

Regeneration without the stadium... is a no go ...and it's time they woke up and smelt the coffee !!

 

Hooligans indeed...the only hooligan I know is me ! when I hear such utter rubbish ......

i think the observer just butchers the reports put on the various sites and merge them together, because it's obviously too cold to go watch a football match

I know they copy the web site because I've written reports that appear almost word for word in the papers, often with the same mistakes that were in my original!

you know, i was just guessing with the butchering of web reports, but if thats what it takes to be a journalist, then thats my job sorted
