3m – Marshall-Katung turned in the area, and had just the keeper to beat, but he pulled his shot wide of the goal.

 

22m – Chris Bourne rounded the keeper but was thwarted by a last second tackle.

 

30m – Joe Christou went close, with a hard volley which was well saved by Belcher, turning the ball around for a corner, which was cleared.

 

53m – Burnham threaten when Collins sends the ball across, but no one can get a touch.

 

57m – Hornchurch take the lead – Michael Malcolm, who had replaced Marshall-Katung four minutes earlier, fires the ball past Belcher, and it goes into the net via the post.

 

59m – Junior Luke, making his first start after his long term injury with a broken ankle, breaks through the defence, chips over the keeper, only for the ball to drift wide of the post.

 

63m – Chance for Burnham when a free kick causes confusion with an awkward bounce, but Sam Mott reacts quickly to save.

 

64m – Thomas Gogo replaces Junior Luke

 

65m – Burnham Ramblers substitute Tunde Dixon replaces Lee Scott

 

69m – Gogo beats the defender, cuts inside, but directs his shot wide of the goal.

 

70m and 73m – Burnham Ramblers use the last of their substitutes.

 

90m – Elliot Styles is booked, and within seconds Hornchurch make it two nil when Thomas Gogo paves his way through the middle, and sends the ball out to Courtney Homans on the right wing. Homans makes ground and his cross is neatly converted by Michael Malcolm.

 

Final score – two nil to Hornchurch.
