Chris
Game of two-halves that's for sure. We were excellent first-half and when 2-0 up we had two penalty shouts which looked very good shouts. Then early 2nd Clurgy hit the post in a half that they played very well in. However, we would have taken 4/6 points I would have thought, so not too disappointed. Although letting a two-goal lead slip is frustrating.
Neil Baker
Think you have it spot on there Chris, (not sure we will get an interview done until later in the week, so here are a couple of my immediate thoughts) I personally thought it was a very good game of football in very tough conditions. Of course it is always disappointing to lose a 2 goal lead, however as we have said on countless times before, 2-0 is nothing with 45 minutes to go, and if Clurgys great strike had hit the post and gone in then I think we might have got a comfortable win, however it bounced out and five minutes later they had pulled one back, and then it is game on. When they got a second it was probably deserved, as they had done to us what we had done to them in the first half. At that point we could have buckled as they had all the impetus, but we changed our shape slightly, and feel we took control of the game again, and probably had the slightly better chances. In my opinion I thought it was an exciting game to watch, with two good sides having a right go to win the game, and some real shifts put in by players from both sides. 12 points from our last 6 games is great form at this level, and for us to be sitting 5 points off the play offs with a game in hand after 20 games, is superb, and having only lost 5 games total we are delighted. We have a week until the next game, and they don't get any easier with Cirencester and Dunstable to come. 6 Unbeaten in the league!! COYR
RebelDelaney
Neil we didnt lose we have come back from 2-0 down on a number of times you and john ways change formations and players when you you see fit . Not like past managers who just wait with 15 min to go and the decide to do something. Good stuff COYR
Martin
Completely agree with Neil, very fair assessment. A few of us were chatting at half time and we said that the next goal in the game would be crucial. Clurgy's shot hitting the post was pivotal that goes in, I feel their heads would have dropped and three points were there for the taking. Not to be. Their manager clearly got them fired up for the second half and in the end a point a piece is probably fair. Personally feel we should have had at least one pen first half and again that may have changed the complexion of things. Think the players will be pleased to have no game Saturday so hopefully can come back refreshed and raring to go COYR
Graham Cox
Remember they also hit the woodwork so also can say "if only"---------I definitely feel it was two points lost rather than one point gained but have to agree with earlier comments about it being an exciting game to watch, if a bit frustrating after being two up and seemingly cruising. Their manager obviously got a strong message to them at the break and the bad element for us is that, not for the first time this season , we were out-muscled-maybe we should have expected it as the Managers' programme notes indicated that they were physical. |Is this an ingredient we need to add to our game ? Anyway a couple of more home games to follow.......six points to chase . COYR
Neil Baker
To be honest Graham, you will find most opposition managers say the same about us being very physical... Obviously bringing Griffin on led to a few issues, as he is really strong and very experienced, however no different than for example Scott Harris who I can assure you central defenders do not enjoy playing against. jonblack
2 points dropped or lucky to get a point in the end? Certainly 2 points dropped, we deserved to have won the game. If you look at it severely 2-0 up and playing at home most pundits would have thought a win was on the cards.Still all in all a good game and plenty of effort. Reading Rebel
I think on actual play, a draw was a fair result. We were the better team first half, with a blatant penalty for us missed by the lino and Chippenham the better team in the second half. Yes, disappointing losing a 2 goal lead but pleased with the effort the players put in and credit to Chippenham for producing such a good second half come back. Still 8th and only a few points off the play-offs, what a great season we're having!! COYR!!
SloughRebelBoy
I'd rather be where we are now looking down, rather than looking up at the league table. I think we are ahead of schedule on that front. Play Offs, bonus, staying in the league main objective (which we are on course to doing).

Personally I think it's great where we are at this stage of the season, and added to that the injuries and late conceded goals. Who knows!!! The one thing I've noticed at the mo is when a tackle happens and the ball squirts out it's not going to an Amber (or Purple) shirt.
HorshamRebel
So True Mark, we seem to be getting all the bad luck when a ball comes out of a tackle at the moment.

I don't know but I'd bet we've had some of those 'breaks' in some games this season. It's the sort of thing supporters notice when it goes against them but tend to forget when it goes for them. Graham Cox
I would suggest that this is the equivalent of saying that we are winning less than half of so called 50/50 tackles-------the return of Rummy might change that !
