Tonight, it's got to be a trip to 'boggy' berko for the cup clash of the in-form teams. Fish and chips, pint (or two!) of Hobgoblin, City on the box and the Berko v Kings Langley through the window of the broadwater flats. Perrrrrfick!

Tring Athletic 5-2 Bushey Sports

Tring got off to a bright start taking an early lead on 5 minutes. Chris Vardy latched onto a good through ball before rounding the keeper to score. Vardy came close to doubling his & Athletic's tally on 26 minutes chipping both the keeper & bar following a pass from Kieran Turner.

On 32 minutes a long ball by Greg Deer found Taylor Collins who beat a defender & shot home for 2-0. Four minutes later Ryan Sturges scores a 3rd for Tring who appeared to be coasting.

Bushey gave a reminder that 2 sides were on the pitch pulling one back on 43 minutes from nearly 30 yards and it remained that way to the break.

HT TAFC 3-1 Bushey Sports

Bushey started fastest in the 2nd half scoring on 46 minutes to reduce the deficit to 3-2.

On 59 minutes Paul Jeffery was introduced replacing Ryan Sturges who had pick up a knock & he made an immediate impact with his shot cleared off the line. Bushey broke almost immediately but shot over from a good position.

Many sides rue missed chances and Bushey could well be feeling that as Tring restored their 2 goal cushion on 65 minutes.  A great ball by Taylor Collins sent Chris Vardy clear who cooly slotted home 4-2.

Jeffery continued to make an impact having a shot saved before putting in a great cross for Iannone who headed back across goal only for the ball to be cleared. It was the same combination minutes later with Vinnie shooting over from 6 yards.

As time wore one Tring continued to press. In the 89th minute Collins ran from the half way line & set up Turner who miskicked from 8 yards clearing the bar.

In the 90th minute Jeffrey again was the catalyst playing in Taylor Collins to score & clinch Tring's safe passage through to the next round.

Apparently was our first team that played last night. Think the gaffer rightly thought it would be an idea to get them to win a game for morale, unfortunately that result has probably done the opposite. I can't believe that's a true reflection of the level of the team but certainly a reflection of where we are at the moment. Heard Mark Wiltshere has jacked, not very mobile these days but still a decent player and his experience (one of the only with any) will be missed. I expect one or two might head for the exit too. Bad to worse to bone.

LEVERSTOCK GREEN 0-2 HAREFIELD UNITED
With North Greenford’s pitch still supposedly unfit, it was Plan B and the second visit of the season to Pancake Lane and on a pitch that cut up badly in the centre circle, a goal in each half was enough to seal it for the Hares who I have had the luxury of seeing at three out of my four chosen Premier Division venues.

The beanpole appointed as a referee didn’t really endear himself to the homesters when, with Harefield already 2-0 up, he awarded them a soft penalty which was saved only for him to order it to be retaken. Poetic justice of a sort arrived as the second attempt was hit lamely against the upright.

Two League officials in attendance tonight, presumably keeping a careful eye on Harefield’s goalkeeper after his histrionics at Ampthill last week, but there was no need of a repeat.

Bedfont & Feltham 1 Southall 0

Southall had a good 10 chances to score but they could not get the ball in the back of the net which has been the problem for Southall FC for the last year or so. Southall FC need a 20 to 30 goals a season striker if they want to get promoted next season but yes they are hard to find these days. Southall were by far the better team yesterday in my opinion and the Bedfont & Feltham goal came totally against the run of play. Southall try to play football in the right way but they need to score more goals if they want to finish in the top six this season. Nice to still see D.Cassells between the sticks and he couldn't have done much about the goal. No C.Barrett, C.Stewart or R.Baptiste for Southall yesterday and they missed them. Maybe Southall should try to get C.Vanterpool back at the club as I see he is now at Bedfont & Feltham but he didn't play yesterday.

Bedfont & Feltham FC have some decent players in there squad this season and should be higher in the league in my opinion. J.Busby, L.Graig, J.Lambe, J.Ward, M.Ward and K.Andrews are all decent players and with the no nonsense Ward brothers at the back any keeper will feel safe :)

Also a decent little programme by Bedfont & Feltham FC good luck to them in the next round.
