And a pleasant change from the ridiculous £8 they charge for CCL, before hard-sell accosting everyone coming through the turnstiles to buy lottery tickets.

When you say hardselling, are they actually hardselling or just asking you if you'd like to purchase one?

I never hound anyone, but politely ask if they'd like to contribute to the clubs ongoing finance needs,  hardly pushing it.

No help from fans = no football club

I have to say in fairness, that £8.00 is the most I have paid for CCL Premier game which are usually £6.00.

The Ryman and Southern league games I've watched, although not many, charged £8.00  !

So is there a fixed ruling about entrance fees within the CCL ?  Can any CCL club charge what they want ?

Not complaining over the extra 2 quid, but that could have brought me a hot dog...ha ha 1!!

I believe CCL clubs can charge what they deem fit for League games.

It can be different when cup games, etc., are being played.

Don't see what the problem is.  If I don't like the price I don't pay it.  I certainly do not pay it then moan about it afterwards !!!

Actually still wondering why I gave that £2 last Saturday for Golden Goal.  I almost got bullied into that ;)

Ebenezer dusting off the Christmas cheer early this year, I see. You'd think eight quid was a day's pay the way some paint it!

One club charging 1/3rd more than almost everyone else is a little OTT.

Although I suppose if Windsor did it we might be able to pay the players as well.

...or financially astute, if it pays off. Frankly, there IS no right price, the people who pay or don't pay decide that. I think if someone is charging more it's easy to forget we're only talking about £8 and however loosely you use the term, you're still getting entertainment. Yes I'm sure £8 is more than many, but everyone can either pay it or decide not to. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't seem worth getting irate or upset about. Maybe we should have a Scrooge fund for those who love to start sentences with "In my day..." and scare old ladies by screaming "HOW MUCH?" in the biscuit aisle, when Asda puts two pence on the price of their favourites.

You'll probably find your MP is too busy sticking their snout into every available trough to see you about your umbridge anyway. I mean how else would they struggle to get by on their paltry income? Have a heart, Sir.

....or could it be 'cos Ashford & Bedfont were the only games on that evening ???   ;)

PS There's very little I post on this forum that is not to some degree or another, often hugely, tongue in cheek.

Yeah ok so I drive over to Ashford with a mate then at the turnstile, say fcuk it, you go through but I'm not paying that.

Real practical. :-)

Sorry Rother that is a fair point.  You paid a lot in petrol so you deemed it a waste if you didn't watch so paid the extra £2 to get in ;)

Maybe we are all pricing it up the wrong way, and we should treat it like going to a restaurant and all share the cost equally.

So no-one pays to get in, but everyone pays to get out.

40 players and coaches

3 officials

10 committee members

27 spectators

80 people, match costs say 320 pounds, that's 4 pounds each. Half price!

After all why should it be down to the spectators or home club to subsidise everybody's entertainment?

I started a thread not so long back about Ashford charging £8 for admission which, at the time I thought was steep. On reflection and having been there last week I think I should redress the balance a little bit. The beer in the clubhouse is amongst the cheapest that I have paid anywhere. Also, the programme costs £1. £9.80 also bought us 2 cheese and bacon burgers, a cheeseburger and a bottle of water. Certainly not in the upper price bracket.

So what is the best way to go? Charge £8 and £5 for admission and keep the refreshment prices down or go the other way?
