AFC Dunstable booked their place in Monday morning's draw by overcoming Kirkley & Pakefield 3-2 in their Second Round tie.

It looked as though it would be plain sailing for Dunstable, who raced into a two-goal lead by half time thanks to goals from Jermaine Hall and Fabio Bufano.

The home side’s advantage was extended further when Chris Francis put them 3-0 up after just 55 minutes.

However, Dunstable were made to made to survive a late scare as a spirited Kirkley & Pakefield comeback almost forced a replay.

The visitors scored twice in the final 30 minutes, including a 90th minute free-kick, to setup a frantic finish.

But it wasn’t enough and, after a breathless and end-to-end finale, Dunstable hung on to put their name in the hat for the next round.

Yes it was a very nervy final 10 minutes as Kirkley threw everything at us. They are a very good footballing team but we took our chances at important times. Yet again, another game when we hold a comfortable scoreline, this time 3-0 and then hanging on at the end. Defence were immense this time.
