In answer to why our game with Fleet Town was called off last night. It was on at 4pm when a local ref inspected but a couple of hours later the actual game ref called it off as the pitch was waterlogged. Normally the ground drains very well [possibly helped by the slope !] . We had continuous and heavy rain all day in this area and all other games were called off too [e.g. Weymouth v Poole]. As long as it doesnt rain on Saturday I would think there should be no problem with the pitch. But keep an eye on the twitter feed on our website www.wimbornetownfc.co.uk

The Green Man Pub is Fine. Not very big but only a quarter mile from Cuthbury. Wimborne is a small market town of 15,000 population with many pubs. The correct name for the town is Wimborne Minster - the name taken from the Minster Church which dominates the town and has been in existance for over 1300 years and was originally a nunnery. King Ethelred , brother of Alfred the Great, is in a tomb there. The town is built around the confluence of the Rivers Allen and Stour.

Weather forecast is dry for the rest of the week so here's hoping we don't have a wasted journey.

Game at Dorchester couple of years back was called off on Saturday morning and I'd gone down on Friday with my wife for thewweekend.

Got the news whilst having breakfast, she did the Thomas Hardy stuff and I watched the rugby in a pub.

Snowed as well that day

I enjoyed the trip to Dorchester, shame I'll be at Upton Park this time, won't be supporting the team in black and white
