Watched Frimley Green today. Competitive even game until referee made big mistake which changed the game. At 1-1 ref signalled corner assistant didnt signal ball out of play. Frimley stopped referee changed his mind and play continued and bedfont put ball in net. He then awarded goal and denied he had signalled. Bedfont went onto win 3-1.

Ref lost all creditability fir lying why didnt he just admit his error?

And you wonder why refs get bad publicity !!

Ash Utd 0-1 Farleigh

Martin smith goal scorer.

Worst football pitch I have ever played on. I will be very surprised is they play a home game within the next month unless we get a heat wave.

Not a great match at all due to the pitch, yes we defended most of the second half but we dug deep as a team and got the three points.

The league already has an early pitch inspection process.  Clubs have the contact details for referees that have nominated themselves for this along with which grounds they can easily get to.  This is in play for the exact reasons you say.

A bit of info on pitch inspections from the FA: http://resources.thefa.com/images/ftimages/data/league8715793/10989.pdf

we are missing the point here a pitch inspection was not required because the pitch was fine and totally playable. When I had my discussion with the ref and dis agreed with his discision I believe the officials agreed with me.

It's the refs' fault, the league's fault, the clubs' fault, the dog's fault.... Alternatively, it might just be a consequence of having an interest, from casual to obsessive in a standard of football that has limited resources and facilities that can reflect that.

I travelled from London to Alton yesterday quite familiar with the wet product falling from the sky. Had the game been called off, I wouldn't have looked for anyone to blame, I'd have put it down to experience.

Referees at this level will vary in ability but despite everyone being convinced they could do a better job, we'd be sunk without them.

If you call a game off too early, people moan. If you give it a chance and it has to be abandoned, people moan. If you play it, but, as a consequence of doing so, the pitch takes an age to recover, people moan. There is a common thread here, which I shall leave the bright sparks out there to spot.

There was a 10.30 pitch inspection, and yes the pitch was fine, the referee and assistants were called and were all told the game was on.

The ground staff were still working on the pitch when the deluge came, I agree the ref probably didn't fancy it.

Hopefully we can get the game re-arranged for this coming Wednesday, if not it will be another mid-week fixture both ways!!!

I guess that the best way I can describe Windsor's win against Colliers Wood was that it was akin to The Great Escape. I really do like the way CWU approach games against us. They have bags of pace and movement going forward and pretty solid at the other end of the pitch. We huffed and puffed a lot but didn't really get going until we went 1-0 down. All of a sudden, we increased the urgency and started to move the ball with a lot more purpose. we sneaked an equaliser on something like the 88th minute and the relief behind the goal was clearly visible. Into stoppage time and the referee was in the perfect position to see a push on one of our forwards. There were no complaints at all from any of the visitors and that is as good a benchmark as any to say that the referee got it right. Pen duly dispatched and relief all round. CWU should be gutted that they didn't get something out of the game that their play deserved. The positive is that after two horror displays against Highfield Town and Farnham Town we showed great spirit in getting the three points.

We'd already got back on track against Reading Town of course.

We do seem prone to sudden blips in form - I guess the fact this one was only 1 league game should be seen as a positive.

And yes, every time we play CWU they look like a decent team in a false position, yet always to get stuck in the lower half for most of the season. (Sorry if that's a false impression I've gained there, I don't tend to study the table too closely...)

What you trying to say Rotter, lmho from the top to the bottom of this league the only difference is a winning mentality, their is no vast difference in the players at all of the clubs,as i have said before unless you get promoted the rest of the clubs from 2nd down are just also rans,if you get relegated then that is the managers fault for not doing his job right (for whatever reason).

Alton 1-4 Lammas

Firstly I would like to say what a very nice and welcoming club they are and thank you for your hospitality.

The game was a decent one with both sides getting the ball down and trying to play good football.

I must say that I was delighted with our teams performance, our best of the season in my opinion, really please for the gaffer who has worked his socks off.

Big game at home against high flying Worcester Park on Saturday to come, will be a cracking game for the neutral.

Up The Lammas!!

Duncs, we had a difficult start to the season, but Gavin has worked hard and over the last few weeks we have had a squad that has not changed so much and we are playing well, we may be too far off the pace to go up this season, but you never know, we're working hard both on and off the pitch and hopefully that hard work pays off.

There's a very long way to go and no team is running away with it yet, I think by Christmas we will see who the real challengers for promotion are, fingers crossed that were in that pack.

Hard work pays as they say Ellers, its a major part of a managers job to get hard work out of his players and the best way for that to happen is to have a fit squad to pick from, all players are responsible for their own fitness levels but training the team properly comes very high on the list of priorities imo.

is it possible the ref at hanworth didnt fancy the game because rumours have spread amongst them that bottles were thrown at the officials on tuesdays game with guildford and racist chanting was heard? Maybe he was worried about his safety? Can be the only reason i can think he would call off what has been described by several players and fans as "perfectly playable". Certainly an incredibly hostile environment to be involved in

More than worthy winners, for sure, from where I was sitting. Easier to look like you're playing with a common purpose when you're winning, naturally, but the visitors definitely looked to have it.

All the above comments regarding referee's crying off must surely be another argument in favour of 3G.

Problem is the funding.

I'm quietly awaiting M.V.D.C's decision on Meadowbank's refurbishment, but enough said by me for now on that subject !!
