Big J R Posted November 14, 2014 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I'm guessing here, Dagger, but as someone who lives near and knows the Merstham ground, I reckon that in 1989, it may have been considered a better option to use a larger ground. Dagger03 Posted November 15, 2014 Author Share Posted November 15, 2014 The match was switched to Hornchurch at a late stage, as the pitch at Merstham had developed some large cracks in the playing surface, due to a heat wave. The match programme was actually produced by Merstham, who had no choice other than to switch the match. Thanks to Jago for supplying this information.
