Slough 1-4 Cheshunt

No Daly, Gyoury, Barrowcliff, Wilkinson (four first choice captains), Haddow and lost Murphy after ten minutes and it showed as we were defeated 4-1. We did have some good chances though and after skipper with back Miller, Gilkes (2) and Spencer made the Cheshunt keeper pull off some good saves. Brown scored our goal.

Some defensive signings and injury recoveries needed for Saturday!

Obviously it's always good to win but it's a shame we need to waste our time with these micky mouse cups, time to concentrate on the league!

Lets hope Murphy(Thigh Strain)can recover for Saturday.

Overall we never really got out of second gear, theres always the Berks and Bucks <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I could not really give a monkeys about this game and it is just a shame that we do not have a big enough squad to rest some of the players who will be needed at their best for Saturday.

Very concerned about our potential back three for Saturday. With Daly, Gyoury and Murphy all likely to miss out and no sign of Bartley today, what do we have? Adrian Brown. AAAAAARGGHH.

For those of you who could not or did not want to attend today (and who can blame you) you missed some real conference quality play from Spence. He showed great close control as he cut in brilliantly from the right side of the box. With space opening up on the left side of the box Slough had two men over, it seemed certain he would create an eye pleasing consolation goal and at the crucial moment.....he goes it alone and.....misses. Greedy ****.

He did not actually have a bad game today. As I quickly backtrack to avoid upsetting Radders (after all he is bigger than me). I think the reason Spencer annoys me so much is that I know he can be a class act (I have seen it) but he can't produce it consistently. I suppose this lack of consistency perhaps explains why he is at Slough. Oh and also he tends to shy away from a tackle and can give up occasionally.

Anyhow after that stream of consciousness on the genius that is Ryan Spencer I will shut up.

Seems like we don't care about the Bryco Cup more like? Given the injuries we have in our squad and the fact Rav got a game, I don't think it was high up on our priority list Amber. You took your goals well, no qualms about that, and your keeper pulled off three very good saves late on, but you only have to look at the reaction of the supporters (were you there?) from Slough who stayed away because it's a meaningless cup to us. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Best of luck in the next round.

Ok Ok Ok ..... we lost 4 -1 our team was still trying what ever anyone thinks...in fact in the second half the Cheshunt goal keeper was the one having to stop shots....4 real good saves too !

Poor old foster was having to be a full back plus a Goal keeper at times ! This just proved Slough pushed forward and left gaps at the back !

The attendance was 137 !

just FYI Windsor V Whyteleafe last saturday a team in 2nd and 3rd place got 135 !

So even on a night lots of football on Telly and a match we really did not want to fair in ....

we still had 137 in attendance....and at times the laughter behind the goal was worth the entrance fee alone....

but at least Slough did try.....with all those player problems.....

well done....

Well normally I would be very concerned with a 4-1 home defeat but judging by what you've all said, it doesn't seem that bad. Well, I hope not. At least we have only the league to concentrate on (apart from the Berks and Bucks). Still a shock to see the score as 1-4, especially since we managed to beat Horsham 4-1 with the same injury problems?

My line up for Saturday:

Foster
Browne, Gilkes, Steer
Haddow (LWB) Braich (RWB)
Wilko & Haddow (Both fit but rested last night?)
Boot
Hodge & Miller

Now I know Alex Haddow is great but I am not sure even he can play in two places at the same time.
