Boring question

I suspect Laz might be the man to answer this, but I thought I'd put it on here just in case anyone else could help (or wanted to show off their knowledge of web design)

 

Can I put information about a table in a stylesheet? I want to make all of my tables have the same border (size, colour etc.) I've tried looking on the internet - but every site I find seems to indicate that you have to specify the details about the table in the HTML. I don't really know what I'm talking about, and I'm supposed to be teaching myself, so any help would be gratefully received.

Are you using Frontpage, EFM's L?

 

If so, you can set default border colours/sizes when you insert the first table, this will then apply each time you insert subsequent tables.

 

Stylesheets are generally used for font settings, so are not particularly relevant to table characteristics.

We're not really supposed to be using any type of editor - stupid if you ask me, but it's for an assignment and the lecturer wants us to know how to do everything with just the coding.

 

I suppose I could use frontpage or dreamweaver, and then just claim the code was mine. Cheers for the advice

Librarian, i know a bloke that designs webs, and databases and stuff like that. He goes on about the "codeing" and everything. Quite complex stuff, but i've got the hang of it now, so it obviously isn't that difficult!

We've moved on from punching holes in bits of card, or haven't you noticed? Anyway, the answer to the original question is 'no' but if you're just coding the HTML manually just copy and paste some you've done earlier. QED.
