Eventful game at Hadley

Dom Petrucci scores direct free kick, ball went through hole in net. Sun kick ball back to the centre spot for restart, ref gives goal kick

Sun have taken a 1-0 lead on the half hour mark

After taking a 1-0 lead, Sun Sports have allowed Petrucci to walk the ball into the net from the restart, to make up for the earlier mistake

Top drawer sportsmanship and a credit to Sun, currently 1-1 here now

0-0 at welwyn v Risborough. God knows how. Welwyn all over them like a rash. Should be 4-0 up at least by now!!

Second half delayed as referee not happy with pitch markings on the Welwyn pitch. Various volunteers scrambling around trying to work out how to access the container to get the line marking machine out as the groundsman has gone home. Comical scenes here.

Comprehensive from WGC in the end. Risborough goalkeeper easily takes the MOM award for a string of outstanding saves to keep them in the tie until late on. Should have been double figures but mightily impressed with Welwyn tonight. The citizens are flying high and surely will have something to celebrate come the end of the season.

Was at the game the keeper told the ref that it went in, but overruled him. We scored very soon after and me Hobbs asked our keeper if it did go in he said yes and we allowed them to get there hols the rightfully scored. Ash Lewis made it 2-1 James Armstrong then missed a pen but made it 3-1 at the end to make up for his tame effort. Hope that clears things up for u

Great stuff from Hobbsy senior, wish there were a few more managers in the league like him. I could think of a few teams that would NEVER have done that and just laughed it off. Still, always safer to do it at 1-0 than 0-0, sporting.... but also very clever.

Sounds like you witnessed a miracle as well, a missed peno from Jamie Alan Armstrong, they don't come around too often. Has Hobbsy claimed that Jamie missed the penalty as a gesture of good will as well?

Would have looked a lot better if they had done it at 0-0.

Hard one to call though as you never know if people are trying to have you over.

Like you say RH some teams in this league would never have even thought of doing that.

Great sportsmanship . . . but like was said above (and by my wife when I told her about it) they did it AFTER taking the lead not straight from the goal-kick.

Not sure I'd have been too pleased watching my team "let one in" to be honest so whoever took the decision had some balls to do it!

We did it in January 2013 against Harefield. Harefield kicked the ball out because a player was down injured. Hertford kicked the ball back to Harefield keeper. He phaffed around and our striker took it off him and scored. We let them walk it in to our net from the re-start. The Harefield fan I was next to said that we should not have let them score as the keeper should not have taken so long on the ball.

From the explanation given on Sun Sports, I think the manager let Hadley score as soon as he found out. Don't think it had anything to do with them scoring themselves.
