Flackwell Heath facilities

Recommended Posts

Asked about what we can expect, on the isthmian board, and here are the responses

The ground is reached down a bumpy unmade road between detached houses.

There is limited car parking behind the goal and your car is under threat from wayward shots typical of that level.

There are three "stands" which are really more lean-to's. There is a row of mature pine trees which help stop more wayward rugby style clearances going into back gardens.

The tea bar is on the other side next to a tiny seated stand. The Social Club is large and cavernous - a bit like an old school hall.

From memory it is up steps so may be a challenge for a wheelchair user.

The pitch is on a slope, it is bumpy and bare in many places. Incidentally the stand behind the goal was constructed from the remains of Maidenhead Bus station which was demolished 15 years ago - I've stood under better ! It is truly a ground suited to feeder football.

tea in proper mugs - thats a plus!

Pitch is shocking - or was last season.

Check the nets. We scored a pen - which went into the side netting & was clearly a goal. The ref gave a corner, as the ball had gone through a sodding great hole in the net.

They have an official who looks like Maurice Gibb. He's happy to swear at you, but if you say anything back, he threatens to throw you out for foul & abusive.

All in all, an interesting place to visit!
