Oh that's OK then the water bottle was almost empty !!!

Doesn't matter if it was full or empty shouldn't of been thrown at all !!!

Also noticed the age has gone from 16 to 15 and now 14 how long before we hear "he is a child he didn't realise the seriousness of his actions" Excuses excuses !!!

I'm sure there's a concrete rule regarding at which stage in a game it needs to be for a game to be replayed or points awarded? Any of the budding refs on here know or can find out?

Couldn't find the southern leagues rules but this is taken from the Isthmian league

8.3.4 In the event of a match being abandoned due to the conduct of one Club or its members or supporters the Board has the power to order that the match is not replayed and to award either one or three points to the Club not at fault. It cannot levy a financial penalty due to the conduct of a Club

the rules from the southern league may be different !!!!

NOPE DEFINATELY  dont remember remember doing that as a chid, must just be Banbury that you are bought up to believe its OK.

Perhaps they should try telling the ref they think its OTT instead of the pitiful excuses they are coming up with.

The 2 kids I saw were not 14 , the youngest looking 1 was 15 at least and the other 1 was 16-17 6ft +

I've written to the Southern League arguing the case for 3 points but no reply as yet. Perhaps some of you lot should as well instead of whining about on here!

Here's my email, you can copy the basics -

Dear Mr Turner,

I am saddened to have to write to you concerning the events this Saturday at the Spencer Stadium where I travelled to watch my local side Slough Town play Banbury FC. In well over thirty years of supporting Slough and non league football, I have never witnessed, or even heard of a game being abandoned because the referee was assaulted by a member of the crowd. My immediate thoughts are with the referee and I hope that he gets all the support you can offer him.

I am very disappointed that I have had spent a considerable sum on travel to the ground and entry, not to be refunded by Banbury FC. I am told that the game is likely to be replayed and my ticket will be valid, however, I have very little chance of being able to make a midweek game and I would of course have to pay for a train travel again.

However, my expenses pale in comparison with other Slough fans who had travelled from as far away as Yeovil, Brighton and Matlock to watch this game.

I do feel sorry for the vast majority of Banbury FC fans who expressed regret and embarrassment at the incident, however the stewarding at the club was terrible, not only in protecting the officials but some seemed intent  on antagonising Slough fans after the game was abandoned.

A fine would surely hurt Banbury, a club I believe are struggling financially, so I feel the only decent thing to do would be to award Slough the 3 points given we were in winning the game comfortably at the time. I think anything else would send out the wrong message to the rest of the league; that if the game or the referee’s decisions are not going your way you can take the law into your own hands. I await the league’s decision with interest.

Best Regards
Mark

Effing joke, read their forum, one thinks its completely OTT and we all did similar stuff as kids! Wanted to reply but couldn't be bothered to register and it'll only get me more mad with their replies.

Tried to register and all you get to is  "PENDING STAFF APPROVAL"  (5 days now)

The manager can't count he said 150 - 200 supporters from both side around the tunnel.

I'm sure that rule was brought in for games being abandoned for other reasons like the weather or injury, not for Refs being assaulted.
