Banbury Away

I would be disgusted if Banbury didn't agree a loss with the fa here. If they replay this game from 0-0 it could set a very dangerous precedent. Boys we are losing at half time lets just get a fan to nobble the ref and we can have another go. If they game is replayed I would be utterly disgusted with the fa and Banbury

STANDARDISED RULES
These Rules have been compiled by the Sanction and Registrations Committee of The Football
Association in conjunction with the Members of the Standardisation of League Rules Working
Group for the mandatory use of all sanctioned Competitions at Steps 1 to 6 inclusive of the
National League System.
It should be noted that where the Rules have been printed in [ ] they are optional and where a
gap has been left the appropriate word, fi gure or amount needs to be inserted.
Whilst additions may be allowed to the Standardised Rules these must fi rst be approved by The
Football Association.

8.3.4 In the event of a match being abandoned due to the conduct of one Club or its members or
supporters the Board has the power to order that the match is not replayed and to award
either one or three points to the Club not at fault. It cannot levy a financial penalty due to
the conduct of a Club.

However, when this happened in 2011 when Chesham were 1-0 up:

"CHESHAM United's league game was abandoned after the referee was allegedly punched by Redditch striker Josh McKenzie.

The Generals were cruising to victory after a James Potton first-half strike when the ref awarded Chesham a 52 nd minute penalty against McKenzie."

The Southern League and the FA stated the game be replayed

When John Tebbit, a man who was there when Neolithic Man played Mammoth skins for goalposts, says he has never seen anything like that in all his years watching football, you know it's been a strange afternoon.

I never saw the incident, but plenty of Banbury fans pouring into the bar at halftime were quick to condemn it. Do not blame the ref one bit.

I feel we should get the points, anything else absolutely sends out the wrong message. Every club can have one idiot, but with stewards like those at Banbury, it's not hard to see how that sort of behavior is allowed to go on unchecked. I will be emailing the Southern League and the FA in the morning.

COYR!

Just proves what a bunch of idiots we are dealing with.

Common sense says that when a club or one of it's supporters/officials are solely responsible for the abandonment of a match then the match should be awarded to the other team.

As said, if only for the precedent it would set for any person to get a game abandoned should they wish if their team is losing with no consequences.

Also, I cannot believe that the offending home club would not be fined for a lack of control of their supporters and a lack of protection for the officials.

I only saw one steward and then another appeared after putting a high vis jacket on pretty sharpish.

Apparently someone said a so called Steward was spoiling for a fight, you really couldn't make it up.

As Rebel1965 says on the other thread, let's not succomb to wild speculation and let the proper authorities deal with the outcome.

One thing that the Southern League need to look into is ground safety, that concrete wall leading to the changing rooms is not sufficient protection.

For me today has overshadowed a good 1st half Slough performance especially from Hatchet, and ruined a good game of football .

I hope the referee is ok and returns to football soon as possible.
